A busy lunch spot but nothing they can’t handle. Loved the plantains and pupusas very nice. Quesadilla w guacamole was simple but great. Guacamole especially nice, not spicy fortunately. Yay. Chips come to table at no cost and were lighter tastier and fresher than the Mexican restaurant we go to. I’m now going Salvadoran instead of Mexican… really better. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Beverages served in huge icy cold mugs, a nice touch. Some other pretty dishes coasted by. Not skimpy on portions while prices reasonable. I’ll be back! Good work.

The time and effort that the owners have put into this restaurant seems to be the reflection of years of hard work and dedication. Like many out there, the cust service and atmosphere is good but definitely can be much better and I’m sure they’d work on it.

Thank you for having us!

More restaurants need to be this good. I’ve never been here but my boyfriend goes here to eat often and brings me food home. It’s sooooo good. Even reheated (consumers: don’t be reheating and complaining if you aren’t reheating items the right way) I reheated my latest meal from El Tio the next day and it was still sooooo good. The portions are huge, the flavors are perfect. The chicken was still tender (again consumer- learn how to properly reheat food if your getting it to to eat later) and the prices are very reasonable! I’d add a photo but I ate it.

Took my family to El Tio Restaurant and we had an amazing time. The food was authentic, full of flavor, and tasted just like traditional Salvadoran cooking. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for families. We really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended.

I just found this restaurant , decided to order “pescado frito”…best decision cause was so delicious. Customer service was not good. They are barely asking you if you need something else, but the place is comfortable

An authentic El Salvadoran restaurant that offers excellent service and all the comfort foods seasoned to perfection. Close to UVA, 250 and 29 in the old Tokyo Rose.

Service: GREAT! We were happily greeted by Leo who explained the menu and took our orders. He was super polite to those with us not familiar with the cuisine.

Food: Arrived to the table quickly and tasted AMAZING. Items that were not advertised as spicy came out as expected. The portions were very hearty and easily shared.

Pricing: Pricing is right on point. We had 4 appetizers, 3 entrees and 1 dessert for $56.

Venue: The restaurant itself is very clean. The decor is tasteful and they even have an 8ft shadow box displaying items representing El Salvador! If casino games are your thing… those too are available.

Bathrooms: The only con for this location can be found here. It was difficult to get around the items stored in the hall to get in and out of the bathroom. They were clean, but the hot water men’s room sink took a very long time to get hot.

Overall, this is a great location. We will be returning with friends!
