This place (all the way in the back) is excellent. I ordered a taco, chicken pozole, and a mole tamale to go. When I got home and started eating, I was impressed by how fresh and balanced everything tasted. There was no excess oil or heaviness — just clean, well-prepared food that felt homemade and high quality.
The staff were extremely friendly, and the overall experience was welcoming. I’m looking forward to going back to try more dishes.

Tacos used to taste better. They charge you extra to grab lemon. For a $5 taco there’s barely any meat.

Weppppah! Some of the best tacos in Nuevo York! This gem is located behind a grocery store. Service is great and everyone is friendly, head to the back and order at the window, you’ll pay once your order is ready or if you stay right after you demolish those tacos. If you take to go they will give you little take away cups and foil wrap so you can help yourself to the bar- for the pico de Gallo, Spicey salsa, cucumber, lime, radish and mixed salad to go with your tacos. If you stay, you can just help yourself to how much you want. The tacos are excellent, I might have said that already but they are great! My favorite is the barbacoa de chivo and I’d go with the small tacos instead of the large. The taco to meat ratio is great and it allows you to have more variety.

Best huaraches I’ve eaten in a very long time. Chips were fresh, yummy melon aguas frescas —not overly sweetened. I had to wait close to 20 minutes for my food, but when I got it I could tell they made everything to order. Salsa bar had a wide variety of salsas and also included lime wedges, pickled jalapeños, and radish slices. The pico de gallo was delicious! The huaraches came three to an order. One was enough for me. My only suggestion would be to offer them a la carte. Definitely will return to try their chile rellanos and mole. FYI, this is a corner store with a small, sit down, window service restaurant in the back. Friendly staff and clean digs.

You don’t eat here because it’s beautiful inside, but for the amazing tacos. You choose from small or large tacos. Tortillas are fresh. Tamales are tasty – recommend chicken mole. Delicious salsas – hot or hotter . Order at the window. You pay once they give you your food. Very friendly.

I came in today wanting some tacos and left with very very full belly! It was more than just tacos, their burritos and their delicious guacamole!! I would come here again. The wait for my order was not to long either maybe 12mins? I would definitely come back here soon!

Hidden gem- the back of a cute deli!!
The tacos were so delicious. Each bite had fresh cilantro, onion and very well seasoned meat. The tortilla was so crispy. I got a small Al Pastor taco ($3) and the other plate has the large Bistec ($4) and Chorizo ($4). The red sauce was AMAZING.
One star away for the price. Compared to other places, this was a bit less bang for your buck since the tacos were small. I do see others mention the long wait but honestly, it’s because they make it fresh.
Definitely a unique place because of the location and the taste was awesome!

Located on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn El Tenapa is a grocery, but far more than a deli.
In the rear is a nice cafe for dining. The food ranges from good to very good.
If your passing by and hungry park the car or lock up the bike and experience some good Mexican food.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Food is good not going to lie. But the customer service is HORRIBLE. The lady taking the orders is the rudest person in the food industry I’ve ever come across. She got our order wrong and still decided she wanted to blame us, the customers. After they fixed our order she kept staring and making faces at us and proceeded to talk about me and my family. I won’t be going here for a while and it’s a shame because the food is good. Maybe they should fix their customer service or fire people that don’t know how to do their job correctly without wanting to pick fights with the customers. After that whole situation people don’t even want to eat the food regardless if it’s good or not. Made me think spending my hard earned money there was definitely NOT worth it.
