Their commitment to ensuring I was satisfied throughout the process was remarkable
Our server Issac and Mari Tere made the whole experiance smooth, ensuring we felt comfortable throughout.
Thank you so much for such excellent service, food and drinks El Tarasco!!!
SERVICE, or lack or service. For our entire meal not one time did a blue hair server stop at or table to take our order, check on us or even bring us the bill. The host noticed that we were there for a bit unattended so he brought our drinks. A busboy took our order. I had to ask for the bill from a staff member. The chunky blue haired lady never even turned to look at us the whole time. She did stop and talk with the regulars though.
We will never return nor members of our family that live two blocks away as we shared what happened. Plenty of restaurants in Sylmar. I’m sure they won’t miss our business as we won’t miss dinning there.
If you’re looking for a solid Mexican place, El Tarrasco Restaurant hits the mark especially if you love great margaritas and flavorful appetizers. From the moment we walked in, (Been there twice) the service stood out. A friendly lady greeted us at the door, and although it was a Dodgers night with the game on, the place wasn’t too crowded just a chill, welcoming vibe.
I am a returned customer I went fornthe first time few a years ago, and I’m glad I did! The food is absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. I was seriously craving taquitos dorados, and they did not disappoint. Crispy, tasty, and perfectly plated, served with rice and beans and a pinch of avocado on top of the taquitos. Just perfect.
One thing I have to emphasize, was that they make the best salsa fresh, bold, and just the right kick not too hot, just perfect. Can’t wait to go back again! We paid 70+ for a serving for 4 people, I took 2 extra small sides of rice and beans, and left a modest tip.
The chilakiles TRAY are the best specialy there Ranchera so soft and delicious like butter it melts in your mouth. LOVE EL TARASCO.
I ordered the Shrimp fajitas and steak, and my wife had the Caldo de Rez. The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. The flavors that once made this place special just weren’t there. The beans were ok, but everything else felt underwhelming. The fajitas and shrimp lacked seasoning, the beef was overcooked, and the caldo tasted like it had been sitting too long. Even the horchata was overly sweet. Service was just okay, and while it was busy, it seemed like they were struggling to keep up.
This place used to be a favorite – I remember the vibrant flavors and those unforgettable drinks that made for so many good times here. Now, it feels like the magic is gone, perhaps due to new ownership or a change in the kitchen. I can only hope this was just an off night, and they’ll return to the quality that kept me coming back for so many years.
To the team here: prove me wrong. Show me that this was just one bad experience, that the legacy lives on, and the flavors can come back. I want to believe it, but if not, this is goodbye.
