The food is decent, though prices have risen compared to a few years ago. Portions and flavors are good, but value could be improved to match cost. Small adjustments in pricing or menu options would make it more appealing.
It is worth it if your focus is social time and nostalgia. For purely food-centered visits, the value may not match expectations. The experience of being with friends in a vibrant setting is its strongest feature.
Stepping into this restaurant on a Saturday evening, I was immediately struck by the lack of a wait – a welcome surprise! The option for both indoor and outdoor seating was appealing, and the outdoor area, featuring a lovely Koi pond, seemed particularly enchanting. While I opted for an indoor table, the captivating theme was evident throughout.
My choice for the evening was a burrito, and what arrived was a truly generous portion – so much so that a doggy bag was definitely in order! While the spice level was a tad higher than my personal preference, the burrito was undeniably packed with flavor.
The atmosphere inside was inviting and cheerful, complemented by authentic Dominican decorations that were both beautiful and genuine. Overall, this restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with a strong sense of local charm. I would certainly recommend giving it a try!
The quality of the meat was unacceptable. The chicharrón trio was dry and tough biting into it felt like chewing on something as hard as a tooth. The pastor was no better dry, flavorless, and clearly not freshly prepared. It tasted like yesterday’s leftovers, refrigerated and then reheated in a microwave. Nothing on the plate gave the impression of being cooked fresh.
Service was just as bad. The staff was not welcoming I had to find my own seat and the waiters looked unhappy, with unfriendly, serious expressions. Instead of focusing on customers, they spent their time discussing their personal lives in front of us.
For nearly 2,000 RD pesos, the food and service were far from worth the price. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you want good value and excellent service, I strongly suggest visiting Gastronomía Mexicana in Santo Domingo instead.
I recommend to reserve a table since most of the time is very crowded and you will have to wait up to 25 minutes for a table.
