My husband and I decided to try this place while on vacation here in town. We absolutely loved it the first night. The food as absolutely delicious. I had the beef fajitas and he had the fiesta plate. I had never been to a Mexican restaurant where they serve refried beans along with the chips and salsa and we were impressed and loved it. 10/10 I ordered the frozen margarita flight, and he ordered the passionfruit margarita. On the second visit I ordered the molcajete and my husband ordered the beef fajitas. The tortillas that came with the food were fresh and very tasty. The meat was well seasoned and so flavorful. I have no complaints about the food at all. If you are wanting to try this place, please do!! It is worth it. Our only issue here was the service and the drinks. They got our order wrong and it took a while to get the correct drinks. I wanted to try the margarita flight on the rocks the second night and my husband tried the javarita. If you are wanting to come here for the drinks or expect good drinks with your meal. This is not the place for that. The drinks are very weak and are wine based. (they should disclose that on their menu) and they are poorly made. We really wanted to give them a shot which is why we tried various but with all honesty… it took us a long time to finish them because we did not want to finish them with how bad they were but we aren’t confrontational people and decided to drink it instead of having the money go to waste but I did contemplate sending them back. We ordered a soft drink to have with our meal that did not come until we were done and they gave it to us to go and charged extra for it being “to go” despite us not even asking for that. I understand that they are busy with such a large menu and a drive through but they seem to have their focus spread out too much which causes a lack of quality in some areas. I honestly think this place would be the most enjoyable at home. When you walk in, you seat yourself and we were not greeted neither one of our visits which with us visiting for the first time, we did not know it was a seat yourself kind of place and we stood at the front until some other guests kindly informed us that we need to pick our spot. After we were seated, the wait was not long and food came out fast. I would give it 5 stars but the drinks were not good and the service needs improvement. I still think it’s worth trying but better for at home! The charro beans were a 10/10 also! and the menu prices are beyond reasonable for the serving size and quality.

From other reviews, El Tapatio has been a hit or miss restaurant, but we had a pleasant experience. The food was great and the service was awesome ! Our waiter was friendly and he checked on us whenever he could. I ordered some sizzling fajitas and the plate was loaded! You honestly pay for what you get. I really recommend their fajita plates.

Everything was delicious. The menu is large, so it took some time to decide. I settled on #11 — Carne guisada and cheese enchiladas. My brother ordered the beef enchiladas with Verde sauce. Everything was delicious and plentiful. You will not leave hungry! Our server was also very sweet and friendly.

Came here to check it out cuz we haven’t eaten here. Very beautiful art to look at and a very comfortable setting. The food was awesome and not a long wait. The service was friendly and consistent in checking on us. Much check it for yourself.

Awesome food, great prices. Used to come here years ago when I worked out in Kingsville. Just went here again recently while passing through and the food was just as good as it was back then. Definitely a go to when in Kingsville.

We actually ended up going here for lunch Saturday and then met friends here for breakfast Sunday. Both times the food and service were excellent. I lived in Kingsville 10 years ago and this place just gets better. They have totally renovated the inside. It looks great! We loved the chairs and booth art! I got the al pastor burrito & he got chalupas. Both were fabulous! Their salsa is still to die for. It’s my absolute favorite ever & I’ve had a lot of varieties. They also gave us fried tortillas with our chips. So good and not common in most Mexican restaurants.
For breakfast I got tacos & he got the migas. He’d never had migas before but liked it. One of the kids got big fluffy pancakes. Another ordered a bacon & egg taco but it only had bacon when it came out. The kid talked so much about the bacon & how they wanted it cooked I don’t think the server even heard her mention the eggs (she is also a very quiet talker when strangers are around). We just laughed & her mom gave her some of her eggs. I’m sure if we had said something they would have fixed it immediately. I’ve rarely had an issue with my food here and if I did it was always fixed quickly, no questions asked.

I had the El Tampiqueño and it was great, the steak was cooked perfectly and the flavor was good, The enchilada rice and beans were all good as well and paired well with the steak.
I loved the flavor of the salsa and small side of beans that came with the chips.
The waitress was friendly and our food came out fast.

Fast serves maybe a little too fast. We felt rushed to order the moment we sat down. Food isn’t the best… wasn’t very fresh… the waitress never came back to the table to check if we needed anything… only dropped off the check… Wouldn’t recommend coming here. I do recommend going to Mr. Jaime’s taqueria, it’s so much better and everything is very fresh!
