My friend took me here for my birthday. The food was superb! I had the carne asada. Most excellent! My cocktail was the Monster. And it was a monster! I am very pleased with this drink. I even bought a glass that it came in.

I had such a great time at El Salto’s Halloween costume party in Schererville! The place looked amazing and DJ Chico kept the energy going all night, definitely one of the highlights. My server did a great job and my food was delicious.
A few things that could make next year even better: the costume contest didn’t start until around 11:30 p.m., even though the event started at 9. By that time, a lot of people had already left, which took away some of the excitement. Starting closer to the advertised time would help keep the crowd involved.
The judging also felt a little inconsistent, maybe having categories like Most Creative, Scariest, and Sexiest with different prize levels could make it feel more balanced and fair for everyone.
Since it was promoted as an adult event, I was a bit surprised to see kids in the contest, it changed the vibe a little for those of us who went all out with adult-themed costumes.
Overall though, it was a super fun night, and I really appreciate the effort the El Salto team put into making it festive. Maybe next year, participants could even get a small thank-you like a coupon or something for joining the contest.

I stopped in for lunch. There was plenty of free parking. Handicapped accessible entry. Child friendly, with booster seats and high chairs. Wait staff was friendly, she got the order right. The food was good, the frozen margarita was delicious. The restaurant was very clean. The prices were fair. I will patronize this place again!

One word: amazing. From the smoky mezcal to the delicately sweet and spicy salsa. My experience at El Salto was fantastic. I went in the afternoon during the week and had a lovely solo dining experience. I highly recommend for all occasions.

I’ve been to El Salto a number of times. It’s one of our “go-to” restaurants. Servers are amazing. Love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. Prices are great as well. Highly recommend.

It was OK. ..edit dropped 4 to 3 after I had tipped twice not realizing tip is automatically included in the price I was also Double charged for my meal which was resolved a week later. Pay attention to your receipt and bank account! Just bring cash.

Earlier I ordered a chicken soup and they sent me a beef soup which was delicious, so I didn’t complaint. For dinner I ordered 2 beef soups for my husband and father in law, and they only sent me 1. Get it together! It’s a simple 2 item order!!!!
