El Saltillo was first opened in 1996, and it consisted of a small suite in the Parkside Square Shopping Center in Ocean Springs. Thanks to its success, the small restaurant quickly expanded its size to accommodate its growing clientele. After many years of hard work and very dedicated, loyal customers, we are proud to feature 6 locations, spanning from Long Beach to Pascagoula.

Met up here one evening with a few colleagues for dinner. The food was excellent, the restaurant had a great atmosphere however, the waiter had completely forgot about my order and when we asked him three times, he kept replying with “it was on it’s way out” until we got the manager involved and it turned out the waiter never submitted my order. The manager made concessions and rectified the issue. I would still return as it truly is excellent food.

Highly recommended! Great food, great prices. I had an asada taco and a carnitas taco and they were absolutely delicious! Great customer service too. If you haven’t been here yet, you need to stop by. You won’t be disappointed!

I used to love this place back when I was stationed at Gulfport Naval Base in 2019. It was one of my go-to spots—reliable, delicious, and consistent. Sadly, that version of the restaurant is long gone.
On a recent family road trip through Gulfport, I was excited to revisit a favorite spot and share it with my loved ones. We ordered our usual, full of nostalgia and appetite. But halfway through the meal, I discovered something absolutely disgusting—a fingernail in my food.
I calmly notified our waitress, who brought it to management. That’s where things went completely off the rails. The manager insisted it was “oregano.” Sir, this is a Mexican restaurant, not an Olive Garden. And as someone who actually knows what oregano looks like, I can say with full confidence: that was no oregano. I even have a picture to prove it.
Rather than owning the mistake, apologizing, or offering any kind of resolution, the manager doubled down and told me I was “dumb” for not knowing what oregano looks like. Imagine telling a paying customer, a veteran, and a dad just trying to enjoy dinner with his family, that he’s the problem.
What used to be a cherished local spot is now a disappointing shadow of its former self, run by people who clearly don’t care about food safety, accountability, or basic decency. I won’t be returning—and I hope management sees this and takes a hard look at how they treat customers. Until then, steer clear.

The server was very nice and the service was fast. Unfortunately, the food was not the best. The rice and beans were decent, but the meat in the tacos was dry and chewy. The flavor of the tacos was also not great. It wasn’t just my dish – everyone in my party ended up not liking their main dish mostly due to the meat.

I can’t say enough nice things about El Saltillo. Everything was great; service, food and atmosphere. I had a really great time. I always try to visit El Saltillo when I visit Biloxi. I ordered the Taco salad with chicken and my drink was the Mixed berry frozen Margarita. Everything was delicious. Gracias

The food was great! I got the fajitas with steak, shrimp and chicken. It was done quite nicely. The rice and beans that came with it were quite good and the chips and salsa they brought before the meal were good though I’ve had better. I think the most expensive thing on the menu was a T bone steak for about $17. I’m going to have to go back and give it a try. The waitress was good and my dinner companion gave her a $10 tip on a $35 bill. I’d definitely recommend it for a nice but reasonably priced Mexican restaurant

We are passing through, figured Mexican is always great. We got seated fast. Then it took the waitress 20 minutes to take our drink order. 10 more minutes. Still no drinks. She did not know of sour cream came on the food or not. I had high hopes for the place. But KFC across the street got our business.

El saltillo mexican restaurant is a good choice and a great convenient location. Beach Blvd. by the Edgewater Mall. During the “Cruisin’ the Coast” 2018 in Biloxi. They were very busy. But we were promptly seated. Salsa and warm chips then a waitress came soon after for drink and appetizer orders. Once we placed food orders. There was a slight wait. Being how busy they was it wasn’t to bad. Salsa was good. Cilantro and onions in seasoned salsa, not just plain tomatoes. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. Cheese burger & fries. Bean dip, giant extra large burrito, chicken wings, etc…when we come back next year we will stop by here!!!
