I love this place, and if I could, İ’d eat there every day
This is not haute cuisine if that’s what one expects. I’ve been trying to find the words to convey why they are so special to me.

First of all, I’m Muslim and with pefHF heart failure so the options for me on their rich menu are few. The fish, rice, black bean sauce and plantain were delicious and just too much to finish. İ took my time to eat it all just out of respect for the attention paid to its preparation: as a young teenager, İ ate in a lotta places in South America, Brasil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and the plantain they served is too delicious to describe. ( My only personal querk is how boring fresh lettuce is, and the plate was piled high with fresh lettuce, all of which i dutifully finished off, because in my religion, you finish off your food out of respect to nature ✌ , and it was a pleasure to do so because I felt just so at home there it could have been at home with Mom)

As a “foreigner” in San Francisco, I’m exhausted with its attitude that they’re doing you a royal favour allowing you even to come in to their so special establishment: I’m 82, seriously disabled, have traveled half the world, lived overseas almost half a century and eaten in everything from palaces, the best five stars, to shepherds huts in alpine mountain top pastures in the middle east, and fresh catch in small fisherman’s village homes on the Indian Ocean so San Francisco just is not that special – yes İ love MexiCali food but choke on its attitude

I’ve never been in Yucatan, but as a small kid in the early 50s we ate at a lot of local hometown eating places with good food locally grown and friendly and comfortable and delicious

İf this is Yucatan, i hope İ get to go there some day. Even the table cloths are delicious. İ wanted to eat one of them too. Gracious caring sevice. Glad to have you there and the other diners all seemed pretty local too. No attitude. One of the joys of travel is eating in the local eatery, letting the strain and pain flow away and eating good food like you are visiting your aunt or distant cousin’s place.

I was too exhausted even to call the Uber to take me home, and felt so warm in the Uber when İ left and the driver was another expat American and we spoke Turkish all the way there. Perfect ending of a very trying day

An absolute gem. I was looking for an eggless breakfast and this place fit the bill perfectly. This food is authentic mexican, not the comparatively soulless Tex-mex we’re used to in america. I implore everyone to try this if you’re in the area. The pollo panucho and pollo pibil were extraordinary, as was the watermelon juice. The lady was very nice to me, let me in early and fed me early, maybe people in the reviews are just used to people being nice in a shallow way. This lady is nice in an authentic Mexican way, through her actions and her food. Love this place, I’ll be ranting and raving about it to anyone who will listen.

Super flavorful and authentic. Impeccable textures. These restaurants are the ones that deserve spotlight, that neighborhoods and cities should hold dear at all costs. Seriously, seriously awesome food.

Authentic Yucatan cuisine from Mexico at the heart of Tenderloin. New in the area (6 months). The place must be an old restaurant with clean & spacious seating area. This is a good place if you crave for authentic Mexican/Yucatan cuisine like you have back home.

Amazing food from Yucatán. The place is humble and definitely not for instagrammers but the food is second to none. Honestly, give it a go. Solid 5 stars.

I’m still thinking about the food I had here last night. The person working helped me find two vegetarian options. Cheese empanada and chilindrina, which I haven’t had before but adore. My colleague got the tacos dorados, which she enjoyed as well. Next time I will ask for the toppings she got – her’s came with shredded lettuce, sour cream, avocado, in addition to the queso fresco, onions, etc. I received. The atmosphere is not the reason to come in. It was clean and totally fine.

This was around the corner from our accommodation at Hotel Bijou. Great little find. Homemade food that hit the spot. Humble, delicious comfort food after a long day’s travel. Loved the empanadas and tacos, finished off with the refreshing rice milk drink.
