First time going here, very impressed!! The inside is very clean, welcoming, and fun, and the food was incredible. Our waitress was very attentive, kind, and easy to talk to. Will be going back! The pollo de monterey was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant and the strawberry margarita was very delicious as well.

My Father and I both enjoyed our meal here. It was an early dinner so there weren’t that many guests yet. It took a few minutes for anyone to greet us. After we were seated, a few servers walked by without saying anything and I didn’t appreciate that our server Chris was wearing his airpods while serving us. we also had to find someone to bring us utensils for our food. The service definitely could have been better. But,Our food came out quickly and HOT. All in all I’d recommend this Independence KY. location.

Food was mediocre at best. Presentation looked great but the taste, or lack of taste I should say, was disappointing. Best thing served was the French fires in the kids meal. The salsa tasted like they dumped cheap spaghetti sauce into a bowl.

If I could give no stars or negative stars, I would. Called and placed a to go order, they gave a 25-30 minute estimate, which is reasonable. Arrive at 30 minutes in, food should be ready. Go in and pay, host disappears, 40 MINUTES LATER someone finally brings my food out. The place was half empty and fully staffed. There is no excuse for this. I’ll never give my business to rio grande ever again

We have lived in Independence for a couple of years and decided to give this place a try. We went on a Saturday around 1:30 in the afternoon, it wasn’t particularly busy. We stood by the host desk up front, and didn’t see any staff in the restaurant, just a couple of seated tables. There was a bell ringing I assume alerting the kitchen someone was there, after about 10 minutes of standing there and only seeing one waiter who came out and never acknowledged us we left, probably won’t be coming back. Not a good way to draw in new business!

While the food was great, the overall experience was a bit lacking. There seemed to be some mechanical issues that made it a but warm inside. They seemed to be trying to deal with it but people could definitely tell it was a struggle. While most people enjoyed thier service, we were a little shocked when we didn’t get the drinks we ordered until we were almost done eating. Server seemed to forget something every time they came back to the table. Typically my wife and I love Rio Grande but this particular location I’d not one of our favorites. Hopefully they can overcome some of the building issues and iorn out some customer service and this could be a fairly solid place to dine from time to time.

Brought a large group for lunch. The staff was very accommodating. Each of our orders came out hot and perfect. The lunch portions were quite generous.Our server was cheerful throughout our entire stay!

Nice place and great food. The service was slow and the was hardly around. She did keep us updated on our food y saying that it was next to come out……we got it 23 minutes later. Also they got my wife’s order wrong. All and all, great food and will try again. Check your bill, also ways incorrect but quickly fixed. Think it was a waitress issue not the restaurant’s fault.

I came in because I was craving chips and salsa. They were better than expected. Got greeted and seated right away. Friendly waitress. I got the chicken burrito al carbon, which was a ton of food. It makes for good leftovers! Only weird part of my meal was the sour cream was frozen and I couldn’t get my fork through it. Other than that, $10-15 per plate, good spot for Mexican food.
