Authentic as can be El Rio Grande is my go-to for Mexican cuisine. The food always arrives with 10-15 minutes of waiting. The salsa and the chips are absolutely delicious as well. Always served hot and fresh as expected. I ha e never had a complaint when it comes to their dining services neither. Chicken and rice is never dry which is a bonus. The waiters may be quiet sometimes, however that doesn’t stop them from refilling my beverage and making sure everything is just right. The pricing is very decent too. All in all, their food is delicious and they always make you feel welcome. 10 out of 10 as always.

1/9/2026…another great experience. Ordered the #10. Wife got the #12. We both had lemon water. With meal, tax and tip we were out of there for under $15.00. Food is always great. Really nice salsa bar too. Definitely my go-to place for a quick bite.

I highly recommend going to the one behind CVS in Hillsville VA instead, but due to the fact I live closer to NC I almost always eat here or get take out at the Galax location at least twice a month.
Every single time, the order has either been messed up or we’ve paid for extra of something & never got it.
This time when I called in my order the girl kept sighing, huffing & puffing asking if that was all.
When I finally got home to eat my food – it all had the same Salty Taste. You literally can not distinguish the taste between the beans , goat cheese, rice, shrimp or tortillas.
I can’t explain how bad it was other than to say, It’s like eating a spoon full of salt.
I think the owner should just stick to the one in Hillsville & close this one down. At least the food in Hillsville is always bomb & on point not to mention way better customer service there also.

Microwaved. Food came out quickly, but the food we had wasn’t fresh. I had combo #12, my wife had Texas fajitas. Hers tasted OK, but the food looked like it was leftovers reheated. Limp and colorless green peppers. The shrimp were rubbery. The combo meal was premade & refrigerated, barely warm. On top of that, the waitress checked on us a couple of times, but was not friendly at all. This was our first visit and we left underwhelmed.
