As a Mexican family, we hold Mexican restaurants to a pretty high standard. I have to admit, we’re also a pretty picky bunch — so we walked into El Rinconcito a little hesitant. But from the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted with genuine smiles that immediately made us feel welcome.
At the ordering counter, the staff was incredibly patient, taking the time to help us understand the menu and answering all our questions without rushing us. We felt comfortable taking our time to decide. Once we placed our order, the food came out quickly — and then came the moment of truth.
The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the vegetables were crisp, and the presentation was impressive. You could tell care went into every plate. The staff even came by to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal, which we truly appreciated. The lady who took our order was especially friendly and attentive, kindly offering drink refills.
My wife and daughter were also impressed by how clean the restroom was — they even mentioned it smelled freshly cleaned and well maintained. That kind of detail says a lot about a restaurant.
The biggest compliment of the night came from my 11-year-old, who declared, “This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever eaten at!” And honestly, we all agreed. Every single one of us left genuinely satisfied and happy that we chose to eat there.

Soooo yummy. We got the 4 beef taco meal with drink. Very affordable. Food was so good. The employees were really cool. I had never had authentic Mexican food so I was a little apprehensive about ordering. The staff was really nice & explained the differences. I’ll definitely go back here again. Very clean, outside & in. A very good experience!

Walking in I was greeted politely. When ordering the cashier was very nice and explained some of the items i wasn’t sure about. My food came out in a timely manner. The tacos i ordered had a bit of fat in them and personally i don’t like eating fat in my tacos. Tacos were ok. Rice and beans were better.

The food was really good, don’t get me wrong. But it was SUPER expensive for tacos. I had really amazing tacos at El Gordo down in Chula Vista earlier this year and it was about 75 percent of what the cost was here. Just too much. But it WAS good.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but my take out chicken soup only had 1 piece of zucchini, 1 piece of carrot etc.. (very little veggies) what took up most of the room was DARK meat chicken. Most of the chicken was not edible How is it that you guys raised the price to almost $17! From 14 something. I understand minimum wage went up but the least y’all can do is cook it with better quality chicken. Give us what we’re paying for. (Took pictures before picking at chicken)

This spot is horrible avoid going here for anything! The food here is garbage they literally sell you old past date food you can smell it. Besides that you will pay different prices for the same meal in the same week depending on who is at the cash register. I over paid for the meals I bought from here. I know the prices and the lady wouldn’t give me a receipt even after I asked! This restaurant is going down the drain due to poor management!

Ordered tacos through the uber app and received nothing but tortillas and meat. Called to ask about the order because I know it’s supposed to come with toppings and the lady who answered was extremely rude and insisted I must have made an error and selected 5+ different options that leave the all the toppings off. Tried to reason logically with her to inform her that my Uber receipt shows I didn’t select anything to be left off. The logic was clearly to much for her to handle as she continued to be rude and say that it was my fault and their was nothing she was willing to do to right the situation.
Crazy part is it was easier to have the situation remedied by Uber than it was this local business. Would never recommend this place and just very thankful los primos has opened down the road. Highly recommend people save themselves from dealing with this shady and unprofessional business and take it elsewhere to businesses that are loyal and decent to the people who support them.
