Social Profile:

El Rinconcito de Santa Barbara Restaurant was founded on April 4, 1997 in the city of Hialeah in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. It started as a small Cuban Cafeteria, including toast, cuban coladas, “cortaditos” and a small takeout Canteen. Two years later we begun to offer the Mofongo and Puerto Rican food, including the famous Yellow Rice with Pigeon Peas. Undoubtedly, this idea was a success and our customers accepted it as something exquisite. Gradually, new dishes were created around the Mofongo, like Mofongo with Fried Pork Chunks our most popular dish ever. Today, our restaurant has a capacity of 100 people, with an extensive menu with a variety of Puerto Rican and Cuban dishes, Canteens, Corporate and Party Menu for Holidays.

Colorful, family-run cafe offering a menu of Cuban & Puerto Rican classics like plantain mofongo.

Great Puerto Rican and Cuban classic foods! We celebrated a birthday and the menu items of churascoso, bandera boricua, and bacalao frita are worth the praise. With at least an 8pound take home box of leftovers – the meal was very satisfying.

Love this place brings me back to my island with the amazing flavor in every dish. Even ordered morcillas to fry at home by the pound. The best ones I’ve tried in Florida so far. I’m editing after 2 years but we order here often like I say my P.R. roots and flavor I knowwww we love the bandeja boricua it has everything you need in there to feel at home. From pasteles, arroz con gandules, sorrullitos, carne frita, mofongo, pionono, alcapurrias! It they drain a little more uffffff times I have ordered it the frituras come a little greasier then normal. But it’s not bad they can improve that! I love the lobster en salsa de ajillo with mofongo sooo goodddd!!!! So back to this bandeja it can feed more then 3 and still have left overs. Here a few pictures from 2 occasions from the 5 or 6 we’ve had morcillas are the next best thing to Bebos bbq in the island!!!!

as always great Cuban/Puerto Rican food, my selection today was the special which has Platano soup and Mofongo with pork chunks, also try the Creme Brulee AKA Crema catalana, which sound better in Spanish to me, lol. Besides of the special, I encourage you to try, as starter the “mariquitas with mojo”, (slices of green plantains fried in oil) the “ropa vieja” dish with moros(Cuban rice with b beans) and yuca, see pics below…and don’t forget you “colada”, at the end, which is espresso coffee with 2 tbs of sugar…don’t criticize me on this on this one. Good luck. I hope you like it. Let me know if this review works for you.

I have driven and walked by this Hialeah staple and totally ignored it every single time until today. Every once in a while when I’m craving Cuban pizza I go to Polo Norte literally next door but never really looked this way. Today my pops and I decided to give it a try and even though we had every intention of trying the mofongo which is really a puertorican dish and something this joint is known for, last minute we opted for a sort of parrillada with a few sides.

One of my favorite places for Cuban and Puerto Rican cuisine. Here you will enjoy the best Surullitos that I’ve tried in South Florida and Puerto Rico. I also recommend the Pionono. Please go to celebrate someone’s birthday and you will experience a unique birthday song from the waiters and waitresses. Great to enjoy with the whole family.

We really enjoyed this place. Our waitress was very patient with us as we figured out our order! The food came out quickly, tasted good and were big portions.
