El Rinconcillo es el establecimiento más antiguo comercialmente hablando de la ciudad de Sevilla, casa fundada en el 1.670 desde ésta fecha y de forma interrumpida; desde el 1.833 pertenece a la familia de Rueda, siendo actualmente la séptima generación la que rige el establecimiento Nuestras instalaciones El Rinconcillo se compone de planta baja más dos plantas. En la planta baja está lo que fue parte de la bodega antigua, convertida hoy día en bar con barras y botas donde los clientes degustan nuestros caldos, tapas, y raciones; amplia zona donde no se realiza reserva. En la misma planta tenemos 7 mesas para unos 30 comensales. En la primera planta, también original 1670, un restaurante con 12 mesas con capacidad para 60 comensales.

Very popular place for it’s historic presence in the area.
As we walked in without a reservation we were lucky to be accommodated at a sherry barrel where enjoyed tapas and specials of the day.
The food was good but the atmosphere of the place is what continues to bring in crowds.
Reservation recommended.

A must-visit in Seville. We went for tapas and everything we tried was good, with some dishes standing out. The Pluma Ibérica was my favorite (ordered it twice), and the croquetas were excellent. We also ordered pavía de bacalao (fried cod), cola de toro, and an arroz with Ibérico — all recommended by the bartender and nicely done.
What really makes this place special is the ambiance. It feels truly authentic, from the Ibérico ham being cut by hand to the lively bar where people stand and enjoy tapas and drinks. There’s also a restaurant area for a more relaxed meal (full portions only).
We paid €36 for 6 tapas, 3 sangrias, 1 glass of wine, and bread, which is very affordable for such a historic spot. Classic busy Seville bar vibe, authentic and charming.
We went around 8 pm and didn’t wait. Tourist-friendly, with English-speaking staff and an English menu.
The bar didn’t seem ideal for babies, but the restaurant looked a bit suitable — we saw a baby sleeping in a stroller.
Would definitely go back — more than once during our 5 day stay in Seville.

We had dinner on the second floor. My daughter accidentally spilled wine on the table, and it was replaced immediately. Every dish was delicious, and the wine was excellent. The staff were professional, attentive, and very friendly. The prices are also reasonable.

Beautiful building and great atmosphere inside. I highly recommend reserving a place, as it was very packed inside. Good was delicious but service was slow due to the amount of people. We spent about 2 and a half hours there for appetizers and our dishes. Highly recommend visiting here when you come to Seville, as it was totally worth it. Our total for 3 beers, 2 wines, the oyster appetizer, bread and olives, and our two main dishes was 108€.

El Rinconcillo is an absolute legend in Sevilla. The place is buzzing with history and life. We went for the sepia frita and rabo de toro and wow, they did not disappoint. Everything was packed with flavour and cooked just right. The staff are proper friendly too, made the whole meal feel easy and fun. If you are in Sevilla and want food that hits the spot, this is your place.

400+ years of charm. Loved it. We went twice, first on a dinner reservation when we were seated upstairs, and later on a whim at the bar late one evening. Both experiences were great. Service, and servers, are wonderful and warm. We loved the food. The atmosphere in the bar is exceptional. We were there in winter, so it probably was much less crowded. Try and find a time outside the busiest so you can enjoy this gem? It’s fantastic.

What a place! First visited Sevilla in 2021 and headed straight for this place having seen it on a Rick Stein programme. It had not long celebrated its 350th anniversary so it was an amazingly historic experience as it’s stuck in time, reflecting real Andalucian tapas bar culture, standing at the bar, chalking your count on the countertop. Just been in Sevilla again for a couple of nights and couldn’t wait to head back here. Although it’s still old and traditional the service is excellent, fast efficient and friendly. You can still stand at the bar but they don’t chalk your bill any more which is sad. The quality tapas reflect traditional andalucian cuisine which is delicious and there is plenty of choice and variety. A great experience if you want to immerse yourself in real Spanish life, culture and cuisine, it won’t disappoint. Having been in the hands of the same family since 1858, they know how to run a good tapas bar.

This was the highlight of my trip, and I came here twice to try as many dishes as possible. A vibe and buzz that you cannot find anywhere else in Seville. The food was absolutely incredible and consistent. The service was a bit chaotic but in the best way where you can tell it’s how the place runs on the high energy. You stand and eat, and they whip out all these dishes from freshly cut ibérico to chickpeas and spinach, or fresh tuna. I’ll dream of this spot!!!

We visited El Rinconcillo, the oldest bar and tapas restaurant in Seville, Spain, and it truly lived up to its reputation. We arrived without a reservation and waited right at opening time — a good tip is to arrive early, as it gets busy and lines form quickly.
We started with a refreshing local sangria, which was delicious and perfect for the sunny day (October 9, 2025). Then we ordered a variety of dishes: Boquerones (fried fish), Espinacas con Garbanzos, Huevos con Chorizo, and Carrillada Ibérica en Salsa. OMG—the last one was absolutely amazing! The meat was tender, juicy, and the sauce was rich and flavorful.
The customer service was excellent, and I want to give special recognition to the Colombian server, who was fantastic — courteous, friendly, and very professional.
I highly recommend El Rinconcillo for anyone visiting Seville. The authentic flavors, historic atmosphere, and warm hospitality make it a truly unforgettable experience. ¡Bravo!

This is known as the oldest bar in Seville. Most people would be standing while eating. We made a reservation so we can sit down to enjoy our meal. Not everything was the best, but the place has generally good food. We also weren’t able to order the best of what the restaurant had to offer since at this point, we’ve had a hit too much traditional Spanish food already. The ox tail was very good. Excellent! So yummy and flavorful. Get that! The clams were also pretty good. We got eggplant stuffed with meat but the eggplant wasn’t as soft as we hoped it would be. Squid was hard, so I don’t recommend that. As for dessert, get something else from what we ordered. I think it’s pudding? But the general location of the place and wait staff were good, so I’d still recommend to come here : )
