I didn’t expect to give 5 stars when I walked into this place. It is kind of hidden near the back side of a shopping area. It’s had a simple, contemporary atmosphere with nice paintings and clean bathrooms. The food was just amazing though. The papa rellena was as big as a softball; perfectly lightly fried and crispy exterior with soft and flavorful potatoes and beef inside. The mofongo flight was 3 (not small) piles of perfectly prepared mofongo, topped with pernil, bistec encebollado, and shrimp a la criolla. All three had an amazing sauce that covered the mofongo to add to it’s flavor. I particularly loved the shrimp a la criolla. Some prices lean toward the high side, but there are affordable options. It is worth every penny. I will be returning here.

Great food, Good Customer Service, we love the decoration, excellent food and tasty, good portion, and nice presentation, even I met the chef to congratulate him for the flavoring and the presentation and he was very humble and very nice, but I believe that is kind of pricy. $90. for 2 people I felt that I was back in Hawaii. I’ve been a chef for over 10 years and I highly recommend it, just watch for the price.

Was excited to try this restaurant and was sadly a bit disappointed. The jibarito sandwich was ok but didn’t have much taste too it. Yellow rice with gandules had no flavor at all and tasted like plain white rice. The Malta was good but they didn’t make it so I can’t give much credit there. I would give it one more try but get something entirely different. The person I was with enjoyed their sandwich however and I the empanadas (shrimp) were delicious. The mayoketchup was also very good.

10/10 recommend. The food was amazing, this is not your typical fake review you see on most sites. I’ve been to plenty of restaurants in here in Virginia and nothing compares. Im used to the Hispanic culture and cuisine as I’m a Florida native and have eaten at numerous restaurants in Miami, Orlando, Tampa. This place is just like eating back at home and my mother’s cooking. Can’t express enough how good the food is, just need to try it for yourself!

If I could give negative stars I would, I make empanadas at home and I have never had the issue of there no cheese inside after you cook it. Plus get better cheese cause using cheap products like that is trash. I’m pretty sure it was Kraft American cheese that you peel off the plastic….

Food was excellent, the service was pretty good. I just didn’t like how much I waited for the food, because it took an hour from when I ordered to get it.

Best Empanadas I have tasted in a long time.Very hot, meaty, cheesy and delicious. I also ordered the lunch Bistec Encebollado which needed a little more seasoning, but the rice and red beans were delicious. Overall I would absolutely eat here again.
