The tamales were THE BEST I’ve ever had! The prices are very reasonable & the taco & quesadillas were amazing as well.
A special gem!
Nice personell, great food and cosy restaurant.
100% recommendation to visit this place!
The service was so-so. The place was pretty busy when I arrived around 7:30 PM, so I expected a bit of a wait – fortunately I was able to quickly snag a seat as a couple left! The server turned the table very efficiently and provided me a menu. That was the last quick thing that happened tonight. I waited 15 minutes for someone to come take my order (who, by the by, seemed incredibly annoyed that I tried to order in Spanish, which was odd), then another 20 for the food to be prepared. I assumed this was like a tapas place, where you kind of continue to order dishes through the evening, but at this point I’m fairly certain I was wrong, which I fully admit to. When the first two plates arrived, I quite enjoyed one of them, didn’t like the other – no problem, I know I’m not going to like everything I order. I then sat again, for oh, another 10 minutes before a server even looked my direction. At that point they came by and took my plates, but gave me no time to ask anything more. Another 5-10 minutes pass, I finally manage to ask for another small dish, preparing myself for another long wait. 9PM rolls around, 9:15, 9:30… at which point, I’ve been waiting for almost 45 minutes and the place is half as busy as it was when I walked in. I can’t get anyone’s attention, though, until I walk up to the register to ask for the check. The server there was a sweetheart, but while he stalled me, I see them plating my dish in the background. They explain it’s plated now, so I can’t cancel the order. No worries, but I’ve been here for 2 hours at this point, and spent maybe 10-15 minutes of that actually eating anything. I ask if they can prepare it for takeaway – again, the server at the register was very understanding, while the original server who gave me grief for trying to speak Spanish in Spain mean-mugs me the whole time he’s wrapping up the food. He hands me the bag, quirks his mouth a little, says a half-hearted “sorry for the wait,” and goes back into the kitchen area. The server at the register is apologizing my entire way out the door, so I get the feeling the other guy’s behavior might not be uncommon.
I hesitate to give them as low at 3 stars for service, because the rest of the team seemed on top of things, but between the odd interaction with the server and the unreasonably long wait-time for the food, I can’t score them much higher either.
