This joint is the real deal. Día de los Muertos vibes. Stiff drinks. Vegan and gluten-free friendly portobello tacos with verde salsa was chef’s kiss! All staff are friendly and accommodating. The food I brought to-go was amazing, according to those who ate it; delicious beef. Hugo especially went out of the way to make my 10 year old’s bday incredible. Kids specials and happy hour menu. Can’t be beat! Thanks, we will return soon.

The food was over priced for food that was not good at all. Carne asada fries were the worst I ever had. It was a busy day and not enough servers. I went to the bar to order and I was told to wait for my server who seemed to be the only server. They had mariachis which was a nice surprise. But the food terrible . The only food we liked were the basic fries with catchup. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was nice. Food terrible!

We were there on Father’s day afternoon to support a friend’s Band ‘Moxie Raven.’ The atmosphere was fun and I thought the place looked clean and tidy. We didn’t have anything to eat, and the drinks were good – I had a Bloody Mary, and we also had Beer and a Old no 7 cocktail. The server and bar tender were very pleasant and fairly attentive ~ how ever I thought that they were a bit on the slow side getting the drinks out. Anyway, we had a nice time and we will definitely go back for food and more entertainment. It’s seems like a nice place to hang out for a little food & drink.

I ordered chicken wings: half Buffalo, and the other half Lemon Pepper. The Buffalo flavor was good, but the lemon pepper was gross. It was more like mustard (see picture). I also ordered a michilada. I did expect the extra charge for the michi mix, but they also charge for the glass cup they pour it in (not a take home cup either)!
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The environment is very much a cantina.

I live with my family with small kids, behind the restaurant, and some of their guests, make way TOO MUCH noise getting out of the parking late at night. I wish they could tell them to leave quietly, then I will consider the review!

Came to el Rey in Camarillo to watch some football on a Sunday. The service was SLOW !! Waited for our food for almost an hour just to get some burnt taquitos! Literally just ordered appetizers! They comped us our drinks and the taquitos which was appreciated, however it even took loong just to get a drink. I would have even appreciated if the waitress just acknowledged how long our food was taking , but no she barely even checked on us !! I would definitely recommend the Ventura location!!

Great atmosphere, beer is ice cold, great food, great location, and the staff is super cool especially Wendy.. Ended up here on a Sunday after the Casa Pacifica Wine Festival and it is happening. They have a DJ and I’ve never seen it this packed.
