The food was awesome. The beef tostata tasted great. My father had a beef burrito and substituted the beans for pico. My mother had the lunch fajitas. There was so much food my parents could have shared the fajitas. The chips were thin and crispy. We ended up taking food home.

Great every time. Food is fresh and service is excellent. There is a reason this restaurant has been here longer than all of the others in town, they are consistently good, their prices are fair and don’t go up every time you go and the service is great! The restaurant is very nice and expertly decorated and extremely clean always, nice to have a restaurant where you know everything will be great every time close to home! Great for business, family, date night or relaxed meal but also great to impress a date with everything on the menu and the atmosphere, works for anything you need anytime, tacos or seafood and a huge expertly cooked steak…can’t go wrong here!

This is a very casual spot for Mexican food. Nothing crazy, not terrible. Just alright. Service is quick, and you’ll usually be seated right away. Sometimes they can be a bit pushy, but its clear they aren’t being rude, just efficient. The location itself has a pretty great atmosphere, with nice custom chairs and music, TVS playing news and sports, and plenty clean. Overall, however, their food isn’t amazing and that holds this place back. But its still a worthwhile place to try at least once, and as a hangout or meet point it’s not bad either. Important to mention too is its one of the only places with its own parking lot in the square.

We were able to sit as soon as we walked through the door and we were greeted within a minute of being seated. Our food was delicious and came out quickly, and exactly the way we had ordered it. Our service was wonderful as well. Our server took great care of us, kept our drinks full and made sure we got boxes For our leftover food to take home. 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning. Both of my kids got the cheesy chicken and rice and I got a dinner combo with a crunchy taco and a cheese enchilada. We had cheese dip as an appetizer and everything was delicious.

First thing I noticed was the furniture. They have the same furniture as Hartsville Taco Co in Hartsville.

Chips & Salsa: Chips were warm and fresh. Salsa was great.
Mexican Chicken Soup: Great and lots of chicken.
Enchiladas: Warning, they use “cheese sauce” not real shredded cheese. The chicken enchilada was good. The “steak” enchilada was good but the “steak” had almost a hamburger consistency.
Tacos: Shredded chicken tacos were okay. The chicken was very wet which made the taco shells soggy.
Service: 5 stars
Our server was very attentive.

We used to love El Rey but they have gone down hill the last few years. Today I tried to give them another chance and order lunch to pick up. They’re always fast- they said it would be 5-10 mins so that much hasn’t changed. However, I got there and was told the total was $47. FOR LUNCH? I didn’t even get drinks! I got Jim’s nachos with rice, a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, and 2 kids meals of cheesy rice. I was mortified but paid anyway. On the drive home, my car smelled like a public bathroom from the food… it was not appetizing at all. The food was fine for cheap Mexican but not $47 worth. I don’t think we will be back.

We used to love going to or getting take out at El Reys. The last time we got take out it was awful so we haven’t been in awhile. Decided to give it another try tonight and ugh wish we hadn’t. Tacos thrown in a pan drenched in grease and sour cream so soggy you cant even eat them. Won’t be ordering from them again.
