⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Experience at El Refran Restaurant!
I had a wonderful time at El Refran Restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was spotless, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting — truly a perfect place to enjoy a great meal.
The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We enjoyed every bite.
I highly recommend El Refran Restaurant to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a fantastic dining experience. I will definitely be coming back! ✨

The food wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t anything mind-blowing. A few items didn’t taste as fresh as I was hoping, and it took a while to get tortillas—which was a little frustrating since some of the meats (like the al pastor and fajita) are clearly meant to be made into tacos.
That said, it’s decent for what it is. The variety is okay, and the service was genuinely good. Everyone was really nice and attentive. Overall, not a bad spot—just not one that blew me away.

If you haven’t tried this place, I definitely recommend it. The food is wonderful. The buffet is big. I ate sooo much!!! The only thing I didn’t like was the tortillas tasted store bought. But with all the wonderful choices, you don’t even need them.

This is the second time I come to this place for lunch. The concept of Mexican buffet is a great idea. Their homemade tortillas are great. The service is really nice and always friendly. However, I find every single item on their buffet flavorless, the quality of their food It’s simply be below average, tried many things, and I don’t think that I found even one that I can say that was tasty. Just a mass production of low quality food. No flavor., the food presentation on the buffet not appealing at all..

I was really hoping for a good Mexican food, but this was a major letdown. The main issue was the quality and freshness of the food. Many of the dishes on the takeout looked and tasted like they had been sitting out for far too long. I was concerned that some of the food older than that day and some of it tasted weird. To make matters worse, simple things were messed up—the flour tortillas were completely burnt, dry, and hard. Overall, the quality was not good. Due to the poor food quality, I cannot recommend this place.”

I really couldn’t even give it 1 star. I ordered food from there through a service & when I went to pick up, it seems like they have been closed for a while. Like not just today. Please see the pictures. I see another review from about a month ago. I guess I will try again another day.

I was there for their lunch buffet and was impressed with their overall presentation and food selection. There was no way that I could try everything in one visit but what I did have was really good. Their chicken mole and chicken (guajillo?) were both excellent. Loved the nopales and pork tamales. The salsa selection was not lacking at all, which included a pico de gallo with nopales, which is not something you normally see in a buffet. For the price point, the buffet was worth it.
The service was also impressive as the visits by my waitress were frequent and she was very attentive.
I need to return to try their other dishes but I’m also curious to try their breakfast buffet.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food (not Tex-Mex) and want to try a little of everything, this place hits the spot. El Refrán is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of traditional dishes — birria, mole, tamales, pozole, enchiladas, chiles rellenos, made-to-order quesadillas, and more.
$25 includes unlimited food and aguas frescas like horchata and jamaica. Everything tastes home-cooked, like something you’d get at a family gathering in Mexico.
It’s a small, no-frills, hole-in-the-wall spot with friendly staff and fast service. Gets busy on weekends, but it’s worth it. If you’re craving real Mexican flavors and want to sample different dishes in one meal, this place is it.

Mexican food is more than just sustenance, when done properly it’s an experience. The lovely ladies that prepare this menagerie of Mexican delicacies put the truest of real flavors in each of these dishes. I do not remember another place with better sazón; you feel a warm homely embrace in each bite. After trying Mexican restaurants all over DFW for 3 years, I can confidently say I found my Mecca, my little happy place where comfort and flavor inundates every one of your senses and leave you in a state of culinary ecstasy. The best Mexican restaurant in Texas

It advertised the price of in between 10 to 20 for a buffet… But when I got there they told me it would be 25.50, this does not fall in between 10 and 20 which was advertised.. also it did not have a very big selection for the price they’re asking.. but to each his own.. it was not worth the value to me so I politely left after I looked at the offerings they had on the table… I cannot wait how the food tastes because I didn’t stick around long enough to eat it,.. but in my opinion first the pricing was off from what was listed on Google, secondly just not a big selection for the price they’re asking.. the hostess was nice though…
