Most wonderful Mexican food dishes you will ever find…
We moved from Tulsa 6 years ago and always come back for our favorite dishes,
El Rancho Grande has been here on Route 66 since 1954, and you won’t find anyone who doe like it.
We always search out for our favorite waiter Fredrico (spelling)
He’s the best
Highly recommend AAAAA++++

It’s an average Mexican restaurant. It has this many reviews because it’s close to the hospital. That is the only reason there is nothing really special that I found the garlic chicken pineapple fajitas were flavorless also had the chile verde. It was better. It was about a four-star meal. Overall though it’s just a place by another place that’s very busy. It’s got a high rating because of convenience.

Born and raised in Tulsa, and this is the oldest Mexican restaurant in the city. I love Mexican food, so I brought my wife here — she’s new to Tulsa and we just got married, so it was her first visit.
We came in on a Wednesday night for our one-month anniversary. It was very slow, service wasn’t great, and the food was average. Our ticket was about $40 for one entrée, one appetizer, and two iced teas, which felt high for the experience.
The iced tea and salsa were good, but given this visit, I’m not sure we’ll be back.

I’ve seen reviews and been hearing about this Mexican restaurant. I decided to try today with a friend for lunch and I was a little disappointed to find out there’s no options when it comes to the salsa. The service was good the restaurant seemed clean the atmosphere was okay but the food was disappointing I went ahead and gave it three stars because they’re not shy of giving you food there’s plenty of it it’s just not what I thought. Warning! A guacamole salad is not a guacamole salad it’s a plate of lettuce with a small scoop of avocado or guacamole on the side with a little tomato on the other. This hurt them in my review but they need more choices of sauces and I’m not sure what this red sauce was in the little cup but it tasted like it was mostly ketchup. I just was not impressed and I got caught up in all the hype about this restaurant and it lead to a further larger disappointment

Started off with chile con queso to go with our chips, as well as the PB&J Jalapeños. Cheese was good, but the stuffed jalapeños were unique. Stuffed with peanut butter and deep fried, then served with house made pepper jelly. I’ve never seen anything like them before. Hubs got the El Rancho Grande dinner, which was like a sampler and I got the camarones al mojo de ajo. Mine was great- not too crazy with the garlic. Would recommend this place!

I asked for a green salsa. The waitress was new and didn’t advise me that there would be a charge. Which would have been acceptable should I had the option. She went to speak to her manager, Alicia which walked over with an attitude saying she will see what she can do. At this point I’m think they might new their $2 to pay there bills. I told the waitress to let it go and charge it. Alicia walks over and says NEXT TIME you know. Wow a manager talking down to a paying customer. What a great first and last experience. But not only does it stop there I called the next day to speak with John the manager and Alicia answers and HANGS UP on me. Let me also say that the food was horrible.

We came here with friends that live in Oklahoma. This resteraunt has authentic Mexican cuisine. The margaritas are the best I’ve tasted in a long time! Our waiter was very attentive to our refills and delivery of food. We were too involved with visiting that we forgot to take pictures of our food. But I would Suggest to get the queso!

There is a very good reason why this restaurant has survived for Over 50 years. The margaritas and guacamole are the best Tulsa! The rest of the food is awesome but if you can make a great margarita and you have great guacamole, it’s hard to beat!!

Overhyped/Overpriced
The best part of my visit was my waiter and the chips with salsa
The chicken(gave a canned chicken taste and consistency), beans(were sour) and rice(dry) did not pass the vibe check. The quality and quantity were horrible for the price point.
The drinks were lazy. The presentation felt like they pushed out items while blindfolded.
I was expecting such a great experience and left completely disappointed for wasting 45$ on 2 drinks and 1 quesadilla.
