Great place for breakfast! We stopped here during the week and it isn’t too busy. Service is prompt and the staff is friendly. Great flavors from all the dishes we ordered. The breakfast burritos are big and flavorful. The housemade salsa has great flavor and well balanced amount of heat. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict was fantastic; creamy and smooth. The chocolate brownie pancakes are dessert for breakfast! Served with maple syrup, it’s a great flavor balance to the other dishes. The tater tots were a bit too well done, but a good side nonetheless. We will definitely be coming back here soon!

Best brunch spot in LB. Food is excellent and a great value. I was stuffed for most of the day afterwards! Everything on the menu sounds delicious, but I settled on the breakfast bowl. Really tasty and healthy with the addition of the soyrizo. There are quite a few vegetarian options, which is nice. The space is lively and decorated really cute. I didn’t catch our server’s name but she was excellent. Didn’t have to ask for water refills or anything for that matter. Thid spot is owned by locals so you can feel good about supporting the Long Beach economy by eating here. No reservations, so be prepared to wait a bit on the weekends. It’s a popular spot for good reason.

Our food was delicious and our service was the best! I had the chilaquiles burrito with black beans and my bf had the El Luchador it was like an open faced torta with birria meat and a poached egg. My burrito had birria meat inside and it had sour cream and avocado on the top! My beans were a little overwhelming to say the least I like my black beans normal and these were to smoky for my liking but over all everything looked fabulous and tasted bomb

Back for my second visit to Blackbird and it was just as good as the first! A huge shout out to Annette for making the experience so special. She is a gem, a total people person, incredibly attentive and knows the menu inside and out. She even let us sample a few things before ordering to help us decide, making sure we’d love our meal. Her friendly energy and helpfulness really set this place apart. Can’t wait to come back! Five-star service and great vibes.

I recently visited Blackbird Café in Long Beach with my mom today, and I didn’t realize how enjoyable the whole experience would be until I actually walked inside. Before we even got to the door, I noticed how much parking there was around the area, which made everything feel so much easier and less stressful. I appreciated that right away because it set the tone for a relaxed morning. When we stepped inside, we were seated immediately without any waiting at all, which surprised me because the place looked like the kind of café that would usually have a line. The atmosphere inside felt very contemporary in a way that makes you feel like you’re in a modern, creative space even when you’re just sitting down to eat breakfast.
Both my mom and I ordered breakfast indoors, and each of us spent somewhere between ten and twenty dollars. For what we paid, the food felt really worth it. It tasted fresh, comforting, and exactly like the kind of breakfast you want when you’re trying to start your day in a good mood. I didn’t feel rushed while eating, and I liked that the café gave us enough space to enjoy our food without feeling crowded. Even though I’ve only been there once before writing this review, I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would.
One thing that stood out to me was how many teenagers I saw there. It honestly made sense because the whole place has this lively, youthful energy that teenagers would enjoy a lot. The contemporary style, the comfortable seating, and the relaxed vibe make it feel like a spot where teenagers can hang out, eat something good, and feel like they’re in a place that matches their creative side. I think teenagers would love being there, especially if they enjoy cafés that feel modern and welcoming at the same time.

The ladies that serve you are so friendly. They make you feel at home like having breakfast at your besties. They are A•Ma•Zing !!! The food is ok, not too flavorful but serviceable and the place it’s cozy, so cozy it needs more ventilation. Its good they have a patio. All in all, it’s a good neighborhood Cafe. The ladies save the place.

I visited this location on a Saturday around noon. I was put on the waiting list to sit inside and waited approximately 10 min which isn’t bad. While I waited I asked to see the menu so I can take advantage of the time.
The menu is very extensive but not overwhelming. I was able to read the whole thing and decide what I wanted . Even decided what I would get on my next visit! Our waiter Annette was amazing! She was very helpful and very funny!
Parking isn’t easy to find since it’s around a residential area but you will find parking a few blocks away.
