Approximately 5 Tables MAX & a 4 Barstool’d Area.
Was Unsure if It Was In Any Way Connected to the “El Ranchero in Longview” – as I Dig That Place… But Always Dislike Going There w/ the Large Crowds/Wait!
Just Got Water *as I Would Refer to Myself as a “Water Snob/Afficionado” – and If the Water is Then I’m Usually Discouraged On the Upcoming Food. (It’s Weird- I Knowwwww). But the Water was Good- and I Went for Refills.
1 Other Table (2-Top) in the Restaurant, and a To-Go Order Came in While We Were There!
Lady that was Waiting on my Daughter & I Was Super Nice & Attentive!
The Chips (Store Bought, But Warmed) & Salsa was Good, and She Happily Gave a Refill of Both.
Food Took AWHILE (for There Only Being 2 Tables in the Place) & Came About 40 Mins Later HOT!!! *Like Not Able to Eat ANYTHING Off of the Plate HOTTTTTT (as It was Probably Sitting Under a Heat Lamp Waiting for my Daughters Food to Finish Being Made). Daughter Got Carne Asada Fries (Fries, Beans, Meat & Cheese) *She’s a Picky-Eater! They Didn’t Have a “Carne Asada Fries” Option on the Menu- But She Was Happy to Accommodate the Request. I Got the Tamale/Enchilada Plate w/ Beans/Rice. You Could Choose Which Meat Option You Wanted on the Enchilada (Between Ground Beef, Chicken, Cheese or Picadillo/Shredded Beef).
I Dug Her Carne Asada Fries (She Did’t)- The Fries Didn’t Come Out Flimsy, Mushy or Grossly “Wet” & There was an “Abundance” of Items on the Plate (Buttttttt the Carne Asada was SCARCE)! Guess They Were Banking on Putting a Heap Full of Fries and Beans to Mask That There Wasn’t a Great Deal of Actual Meat on There?!? = $17
My Picadillo Enchilada was Good (Not Great) – There was a Lot of Meat in That) and the Enchillada Sauce on It was Good. The Tamale was Mainly Masa (Not a Lot of Actual “Meat” Filling) & Topped w/ the Same Enchilada Sauce as the Enchilada Was. The Beans Were OK, Not a Lot of Actual “Beans” in the Mix, But Not Runny Like Other Places We’ve Been To. The Rice was Saddening (It Tasted Like Regular Rice w/ a Light Dusting of Tomato Sauce in It). Was a Bit Dry & Tasteless. $17
The Portions Were Good, But the Food Flavor was Lackluster!!!!
*I Had High Hopes- Since They Share the “Ranchero” Name (Like the Longview Option)
It Was Good, Edible & Decently Priced – So Eat There, If It’s Close & Convenient for You!
^^^ But There Definitely are OTHER Options Around That Price Point for Better Food @ a Less Wait-Time!
The server was a lovely woman who cracked some really funny jokes and had a warm genuine smile. It’s always a good time when you find service that takes care of your food and is fun to engage with. Would come again!
