Ok while this place is not An ooh ahh to look at place, the fresh seafood was amaaaaazing! Far and away the best seafood we have had in SMA! VERY generous portions, little extras like shrimp broth starter, overflowing 2 for 1 tuna tostadas, amazing mixed fish soup, tasty garlic whole fish. Sooooooo good!

Great seafood, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere
I had a lovely dinner at El Puerto. The seafood was very fresh—especially the oysters and the ceviche. The Savannah soup was perfect for a cool evening, and the portion sizes were just right.
The staff were kind, attentive, and welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The restaurant is very close to where I stayed, so it was convenient to walk there.
Overall, it’s a great spot for a light, delicious meal in San Miguel de Allende. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in town.

Amazing food, ambiance, with outstanding service! Francisco and Angel were fabulous, kind, and very attentive. We celebrated my husband’s birthday with lunch at Puerto. The food was very tasty, filling, and cooked with lots of love and full of flavor. Everything we had was a joy to enjoy and we can’t wait to be back! We were a group of 6 and were seated immediately. We had micheladas and shared a Molcajete as appetizer. I had the fried shrimp which were jumbo and delicious. My husband enjoyed a soup I believe it was called Ibiza very tasty with a perfect spice. The desserts were superb and the perfect ending! Thanks a million Francisco and Angel for making my husband’s 43rd unforgettable!

One of my favorite places in all of San Miguel. Small and quaint, friendly, attentive staff, and delicious offerings from the kitchen. Everything feels authentic, has that made from scratch feel. Locals and tourists alike love it, and for good reason, it encapsulates at least for me the humanity of the Pueblo. Centrally located on Canal Street, on the down slope, it is the beating heart of the city. Unpretentious, just honest goodness.

If you are in the mood for fresh seafood served in a no-nonsense atmosphere, this is your place. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here, and we will return for sure. I can’t say enough about the fantastic service, very friendly, helpful and attentive. All our dishes were fresh and tasted great. The place has a great atmosphere without attitude, just great food and friendly staff. The menu is huge so everyone can find something they would like. I highly recommend this place.

We love this seafood restaurant. While we really like their sister restaurant, the one on Canal is one of our favorite seafood restaurants in San Miguel.
The service is always top notch. The servers go out of there way making sure that your silverware is changed after each course, that your drinks are refilled, checking on whether you are enjoying your meal, etc.
This time we ordered peeled shrimp as an appetizer, I had a seafood soup that had mussels, shrimp, fish, and squid in a savory broth. Stacy had a tuna ceviche that was fantastic. For dessert we shared a coffee flan, which was excellent.

Easy to love, neighborhood joint. Not as quaint as the original El Puerto that some friends first introduced me to but the newer restaurant in Canal has an upgraded menu of food and cocktails. Service is always top notch at both restaurants. Prices are very fair and seafood is fresh. I always order the whole fried fish. Soft shell crab was nom nom too. You gotta try it.
