Fresh and brights flavours. We had the Poblano soup, Roasted Cauliflower and esquites with bone marrow. The soup was hands down my favourite. Beautiful setting with friendly staff. If you are looking for fresh and authentic and a change from the bland food on your cruise ship, stop here

A solid 4.5! It’s a lovely restaurant with top notch service and excellent food! We shared the grilled cauliflower and fettuccini with a mushrooms sauce which were both over the top good. The char of the cauliflower served on a mixed pepper sauce was something else! The pasta was cooked al Dante and the sauce flavourful. We went for lunch and will return for dinner to experience the evening coziness of its surroundings. My only negative comments are that I would have preferred to listen to some Latino music to reflect its location and said music was a bit too loud and the wine is a bit too pricey. We will be back!

Everything about El Presidio is excellent and I’m sure you will enjoy a superb dinner, lunch or breakfast here.

What you see is not what you get. We were keen for their mole, which we had seen reviewed and on their web site menus. Upon arrival we were informed by staff that the new administration – if one year is new – changed the menus: no mole. So we left; the rest of the place did not offer sufficient enticement; menu and prices looked market driven. We had a delightful time – and mole – elsewhere.

Beautiful courtyard, great food, great service. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer, wrapped it in blue corn tortillas with the salsa and guacamole and it was sublime. The roasted cauliflower steak was delicious for our vegetarian daughter, The steak, shrimp, and pasta and chicken mole was good too.

Great food, spotless hygiene, and a very chill atmosphere. It’s a bit expensive, but the staff is so friendly and helpful that it makes for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended if you don’t mind spending a bit more

The atmosphere was very nice. We ordered the stuffed anaheim oepper and the roasted pear salad. Our friends ordered the stuffed pepper and the beef marrow (not on the menu).
The food was excellent. We enjoyed the mariachi group. The musicians and voices were fabulous.
The only drawback were the waiters, Juan and Lionel. They failed to take two of our orders. They then brought my husband’s salad, followed by our friend’s order. They totally failed to bring the two stuffed pepper orders until reminded.

Unique and authentic restaurants just don’t get better than this. Not easy to find without digital assistance and quite slow during lunch hours. For tourists, servers are not fluent in English but parts of the menu are. Busy at night I am told with mostly locals. Prices seem scary high at first glance but are actually cheaper than franchise restaurants. Food is incredible and portions are bigger than they appear. A MUST stop for cruise ship passengers.
