Not too shabby. Taste and service was good. The burritos are normally wet with enchilada sauce on top that I asked that they put on the side. I didn’t care for the enchilada sauce (taste was off, can’t put my finger on how to describe it) and was really glad that the server mentioned that they normally put it on top because I wouldn’t have known.

First time eating here, as soon as I walked in , it was very dark and dull , I had to turn on my flashlight from my phone to look at the menu but other than that the food was amazing my fajitas were delicious and my waiters were spectacular. Their names are Enrique and Daniel, constantly coming to the table to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend this place

I’m not sure why or how, but wowzer, the worst mexican I’ve ever had, and I had something super basic – flautas. I hate saying that more than I can express, but the flavor was off in everything. Very off. The sour cream was the strangest consistency I’ve ever seen… similar to a blob of Elmer’s Glue, halfway dry. Like silly putty. The guacamole had an off flavor as well. Idk, guys… 100% won’t go back.

This establishment needs much improvement. When you go by at night they have dj playing music and very crowded. The crowd is in the early 20s. They closed for a while because of a shooting but now open again. Drinks are overpriced, and the floors are nasty.

So I went there for lunch with my parents (seniors). Last time I went to El Portal was at the over 15 years ago. The NW location is new for us. The ambiance is relaxed and cozy with the dim lighting and just the right amount of decor on the walls. I ordered the Asada Burrito and was immediately hooked upon my first bite. It’s like I could taste the smell of the char on the meat if that makes sense. Mom and dad loved their food too. They had a Chile Verde Burrito and the Chon Combo. The only slight disappointment was that we had to flag down the server for soft drink refills. I’ll definitely return as I feel I have found an Asada Burrito that is every bit as good as where I used to live.
