Food was okay. Beans and rice were good. The plates that they serve on were chipped. Some of the pieces were in our food. I ordered a quesadilla, and they put beans in it. The flour tortillas that they make or serve are really hard and super thick. We couldn’t make a burrito out of it because they kept falling apart and breaking. Customer service was really nice and welcoming. We felt so bad that the food wasn’t good.

Absolutely amazing! The tacos, mulitas, birria and THE CARNE ASADA were hands down the best I’ve ever had. The tortillas are handmade and taste so fresh, the salsas are full of flavor with just the right kick, and the meat quality is outstanding — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. You can really tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the whole experience feels authentic and satisfying. Definitely my new favorite spot for Mexican food!
Marisol and Tony are the sweetest owners — they make you feel so welcome, and their passion for great food truly shows in every bite!!

Hands down the biggest and best birria tacos around! All of the salsas they make are so delicious too! This is the only place we go to now when we want birria.

I am so disappointed. All of the food was Extremely Dry. I ordered the 3 taco meal and it was $18.50 after tax, the beef was shaved beef, so very thin, hard, very dry, and NO CILANTRO!???!! ! That’s my favorite part too. The refried beans were whole bean and super dry, it’s not the puree/mash that we are used to getting. I threw the meal away because I couldn’t even eat the dry hard meat. The meat looked like it had been sitting for quite some time. Nice person working though.
I wrote my first review hangry and had to redo it.

Their cream cilantro salsa is by far the greatest I’ve tasted around the area. I think it’s what sets them apart from most taco trucks. Paired with their homemade tortillas. It makes this meal one of the best on the back highway.

This is by far the absolute best Mexican in all of Washington State! The carne Asada burrito is legendary. You can tell they only use top notch ingredients and meat. Also, you never will feel “gross” or get stomach issues here like you typically do with Mexican food!

Most authentic Mexican food you will get in yelm other than the other food truck down the road. Friendly staff and quick service, would recommend to anyone looking for something fresh.

I’ve been to El Portal Mexican store and food truck a handful of times, and let me just say, they have the BEST food! Their birria burritos and quesadillas are absolutely fire, packed with flavor, and you can tell they’re made with love. From the moment you walk in to the moment you get your food, the staff treats you with genuine kindness. The portions are generous, the prices are super reasonable, and to top it off, my brother and I were even given a free horchata! If you’re ever in yelm, I highly recommend stopping by this spot, you won’t be disappointed.

Large asad burrito was excellent. Fresh ingredients with thick spicy hot sauce on the side. Very good deal too. I got the steak burrito and a jarrito for only $12. Staff very friendly too. Would recommend supporting this family owned buissness.
