El Portal in Nebraska City is one of my go-to spots for a great meal. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and the service is consistently friendly and fast. I always order the Burrito Bandera and it never disappoints, it’s filling, flavorful, and made exactly how it should be every time. If you’re looking for a solid Mexican restaurant with reliable food and a great atmosphere, I definitely recommend El Portal.

First time visiting. Nice Mexican themed atmosphere. They have a very large menu. The food and service was really good. What happened to hear the customers next to us say it was Taco Tuesday so I tried it out. The tacos were really good. They should advertise that better.

Traveling by 18 wheeler. The service was prompt and inviting. Great atmosphere. The street tacos were good, my husband had the triple fajitas. I enjoyed the salsa, guacamole and we drank horchata. We would definitely come back!

This place was Packed and food came to the table in less time than it took to order it. We soon found out when we received the very small bland portions. The burrito was flat and had very little watery bland meat, there weren’t beans or rice in the soggy wet burrito or on the plate; maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be but no it’s not. The quesadilla had very little meat or cheese. Even the salsa was so bad I had to get pico to make it edible. The hot sauce tasted dirty. A terrible experience all around. We’ll never eat here again, but will remember this night for years to come.
