April 22, 2025. I’ve eaten at the Richardson location several times. This is my 1st visit here. Jewett greeted me, and took my order. I had the Tuesday 2 for $5 taco special. (1) Chicken Avocado & (1) SP Taco Carbon with Salsa Fresca & Avo Salsa. They were delicious. I visited with the Manager Yudith. Thank you very much for the 2 Churros. Yudith & Jewett were both courteous & professional. Excellent customer service! I’ll be back!
APRIL 29 UPDATE: Jewett & Yudith were both
here again. I had the same Tuesday special as last week: 2 tacos for $5. I also had the Orginal Pollo Bowl for $5. Everything was good again. Jewett helped me use the $3 off $10 or more QR Code from the receipt survey I took from my last visit. Thank you again!
MAY 6 UPDATE: I installed the app. Sophia took my order. Sandy helped with the $3 off $10 or more QR Code from the receipt survey. I enjoyed the same bowl & 2 tacos. It was wonderful again. Also, a positive shout-out to everyone in the kitchen, including Yudith & Gabriela.
JULY 13 UPDATE: Elijah greeted me and took my order. I had the Original Pollo Bowl. Even though I came in late at night near closing time it was very good. I also had a couple minutes to visit with Elijah, Jewett, & the Mngr. Kilmar V.
AUGUST 4 UPDATE: Yudith & Jewett both helped me. I got a $5 Original Pollo Bowl which is always good, + 2 Churros for dessert. Thank you Yudith!
SEPTEMBER 9 UPDATE: Jewett took my order, and I met Rebeca. Today was National Grilled Chicken Day. I got a BOGO FREE 2PC LEG & THIGH MEAL with the purchase of the same thing. It was all delicious.

The food at this establishment was exceptionally delectable. The service was impeccable, and the manager expressed his gratitude for our patronage. I personally found the food to be exquisite, and I thoroughly enjoyed the service and the restaurant staff. I am confident that I will return to this establishment in the future. I would rate this restaurant a perfect 15 stars due to the exceptional grilled oysters. Please continue to provide such outstanding service.

I’m surprised to see the low rating.
I’ve never dined in, just have ordered take-out, both through the official app and via UberEats and I’ve yet to have an issue and I’d been going to this location for a few years .
Maybe because I’m the type of person to just pick up my order and leave afterwards, and even then my order is always ready during the estimated time given. If I need more salsa, I ask for it and they give it to me.
The food has always been great- moist and flavorful.
The only disclaimer I’d give is , their chicken is smaller than other places but it’s because they don’t use antibiotics/hormones etc into making their chicken bigger in a short time frame like other chains .
And of course, like any foods restaurants if they get busy, just check your order before leaving . Only once did they fail to add the salsa I requested but that’s not a big deal. Like yes they can do better but that’s human error in the event that they are busy and overlooked.
I really love El Pollo Loco and honestly if Texas didn’t have this chain, I would had missed it dearly. I would even argue that this location is also better than my memories back in CA because the chicken was at times dry but here it’s always been moist.
There’s other food chains that claim themselves to be healthy but other than Salad and Go , El Pollo Loco in my opinion is the next best thing. Love the chipotle burrito and the family packs.
ALSO THE CHURROS ARE SO GOOD. 10/10 No drama.
The drama is sometimes the racism that I’ve encountered living in texas by certain ethnicities but that’s another topic for another day (but is that why it’s rated low? because those ethnicities match the low ratings , so I have to wonder)

I put three stars in hopes people see this warning. It was bad. The rice was completely dry and inedible. The chicken was cooked well but devoid of flavor. It was close to 40 dollars for a basic chicken family meal and it was terrible!

This has got to be the wost Pollo Loco in DFW. I used to eat here a few times a week. One day the chicken is burnt to a crisp, and another day the avocado on the bowl is brown, VERY INCONSISTENT! The girl in drive thru hasn’t learned the menu in months. Gave them another chance today, and the chicken was so burnt I couldn’t eat it!

My experience at El Pollo Loco was absolutely horrible. It was my first time there, so I ordered two dishes, and I can honestly say, I will never order them again in my lifetime. The 1st dish was the wings. They were grossly over cooked and dry. The 2nd dish was the Nachos. They were cold and had some sauce I can only assume was cheese. On a bright side, the staff was amazing. I just wish the food was also:(

This place is has good food but WAY overpriced for chicken. I ordered a 3 piece meal that usually came with a drink. The young lady was a little rude as well. $12. 50 plus $1 for tortillas that they used to give 3 with your meal. Lesson learned I should’ve went home and cook.

Great place for grilled Mexican chicken! We ordered the half chicken with a salad and corn and a chicken avocado stuffed quesadilla. The chicken had crispy skin and mostly juicy. Breast a bit dry. The salad was nice and fresh. Corn was ok. Quesadilla was good not very cheesy but that was a ok by me. I wish the corn tortillas had been warm.
