This is what I call authentic Mexican. Prices are very reasonable. Sometimes you go to a mediocre Mexican spot and they have prices that don’t match the quality. This place serves quality food, offers good prices and delicious food. Rice and beans are so tasty and the flour tortillas are absolutely great and homemade. That’s how you know it’s a good place if they don’t mess up the beans and rice .Taste of fajitas is just right, not that burnt overly spiced taste. Tender meat , good crunch on the bell peppers simply fantastic!Must try the combination fajitas which is chicken and beef. The atmosphere is comfortable even when busy. The booths offer privacy and comfort. It feels like you are inside an hacienda. The bar area is separate and away from the regular eating area ,and just look at all the drink options. If you want to have drinks this is definitely a go to even if you don’t sit at the bar. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

The portions in here are CRAZY, man.
My family took me here while I was on vacation. And even though I’m from the north of Mexico, I’ve never gone to a “Mexican” restaurant back home where almost every dish is served with beans and rice hahah- not complaining, but it was funny to notice.

Even though I ordered flautas de pollo, and got flautas de carne, they were still amazing.
The place is decorated with lots of heart warming details such as the emblems of each state, pictures, and tokens.

Btw, the margaritas? Delicious, and enormous too.

I would call it more of a restaurant than bar and grill. I also would not call it chips and salsa because to me salsa should not be more watery than thick. This is my third time here and each time has just been ok. The atmosphere is average and the service is ok. The food was also just ok. I ordered the flautas and they were just ok. It is nothing to brag about. They were served with rice, beans, sour cream, pico de gallo and guacamole. The guacamole looked slightly brown but hard to tell due to lighting. This restaurant would not be be my first choice nor would it be my first recommendation.

Our experiences at El Patron are consistently elevated by the exceptional food and service, with Roberto Luis being a notable highlight thanks to his warm hospitality and accommodating nature. His commitment to providing outstanding service and tailored recommendations makes every visit special, and we’re enthusiastic about sharing this gem with friends and family. The “mujara’s” – a delectable deep-fried tilapia dish – is always a winner, and my top pick every time!

Food is good and service has always been good, prices are a little high which I dont mind for good food, but man the AC in this place is horrible. I’m the last 4 visits the is was all muggy in there. Makes it hard to have an appetite when its hot in there. I always ask and I’ve gotten several excuses. Once was the AC is down and they are working on it. The other was sorry it just turned on (got that exucse twice). Just recently I went there again, walked in and was immediately disappointed again with the AC, so I just walked back out. Kept giving this place a shot because food is good, but geez fix the AC.

I ordered the chile verde omelet breakfast, the verde had no heat and tasted a little bland with the 1st bite, I added a little salt and that awoke the flavor and it was delicious. Beans, rice, chips and salsa were very good, flour tortillas fresh. Would have liked to see some smaller plates available everything on the menu was at least $18 except for the breakfast choices at 12.99. All in all I really enjoyed my breakfast

Craving wet burritos while on the way to Fresno. Stopped by around 3:30 or so. Nice decor. Great service. Wet burrito was bit cold. I was hoping it would be hot. It was good food. Will come here again when I’m in the Bakersfield area.
