When it was time to pay, our bill for 2 adults, 2 kids’ meals, and 2 specialty drinks came to about $75, then dropped to $65. I told the employee, Jesus, that our gift card was $100. He immediately told me it was only $10. He then brought over another woman, and both of them belittled me, telling me I was stupid for thinking I would receive a $100 gift card. They said even if it said $100, it was a “mistake” and they were not going to honor it.
When I asked to see the gift certificate book to match the number on my card, Jesus pulled out several books, could not find the number, and then simply stopped looking. At that point, both employees continued to talk down to me and told me that if I didn’t pay, they would call the police.
I went back to the table to speak with my husband and get our card, and while I was doing so, the manager stood right next to us with his phone in his hand, clearly trying to intimidate us.
Being treated this way—especially in front of my family—was completely unacceptable, humiliating, and unprofessional. If my gift card clearly stated $100, it should have been honored or at the very least handled respectfully. Instead, we were insulted, threatened, and embarrassed.
No customer should ever be treated this way. We will never return, and I strongly caution others.
This was my first time Me & Family came to this nasty restaurant. My family has never been so humilated, embarrassed & disrespected in my life as we was at El Parian. What happened there is absolutely unacceptable, especially from someone in a management position. We came in with our kids, trying to enjoy a family meal, and had a $100 gift card we were given. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager, Mr. Ĵesus, was extremely rude and disrespectful. He told us the gift card “wasn’t valid” without properly explaining anything and then called my wife stupid right in front of our children. No husband should ever have to watch his wife be spoken to that way, and no child should witness an adult especially a manager behave like that. The humiliation & anger we felt in that moment is something I won’t forget. This wasn’t just bad customer service this was a complete lack of basic human decency and professionalism. There was no respect, no empathy, and no attempt to resolve the issue calmly. A manager sets the tone for a restaurant, and if this is how management behaves, it speaks volumes about the establishment as a whole. We left feeling embarrassed, hurt, and shocked. I would never recommend El Parian to any family or anyone who expects to be treated with respect. No one deserves to be insulted especially not over a gift card and especially not in front of their kids. If I wasn’t with my kids there would’ve been a different story for Mr stupid. I don’t recommend this place to anyone save yourself a headache & you’re money it wasn’t good at all.
THIS ENCHILADA WAS THE SMALLEST I HAVE EVER SEEN. And I’ve eaten Mexican food my entire life. It was smaller than a rolled taco / taquito. There was hardly any meat in this enchilada. Literally just one bite worth. NOTE: I put a knife next to it in photo to show you how small it was.
I work hard for my money like you do— I thought I’d give them another shot —they need to do much better than this.
In August 2022, nice lady behind the counter and I no longer see the other gentleman that I saw back in April. Two times, the dining room was not that busy, but the last time I was there, the dining room seem to be filled to capacity and the parking lot seemed to have more than one vehicles too. I always order and pickup order; last time I picked up, another gentleman brought my order to me in a bag, I left the restaurant, got in my vehicle and Begin to leave the parking lot but the gentleman that gave me my food, came outside the restaurant, looked at me and approachedy my vehicle, asked to take my bag and wanted to make sure it was the correct order. I saw another vehicle in front of me near the building and they seemed to be waiting to pickup their order. The gentleman came back outside with the bag of my food, seem like the bag was packed differently and or with different food inside the bag. It was the first time that they did not give me the tortilla with my fajita.
In April 2022, I said, The chips and the white sauce are the best we ever had! The guy (owner?!?) that answered the phone was really nice and helpful. Instead of ordering online, we decided to place our order online after speaking to him on the phone. Met him in person when we arrived to pickup our order and he was even nicer in person. On the phone, we asked about the white sauce instead of the red sauce for the chips, he told us that the white sauce is not on the online and we have to request the white sauce when we arrive to pickup order. That’s why we requested our order online and he gave us the white sauce as requested. Also, we wanted to pay for 2 separate orders, and he separated the orders, so that we could pay for them separately. The fajita, enchilada and the kids plate (soft taco, beans and rice) were all good!
