This is the cliche’ run down mom and pop little place with exceptionally good food! Looks can be deceiving and in this case that is absolutely true. I stopped by for lunch, the food is fresh, and drool worthy, but the service is a little slow. Totally worth the wait though. If you’re looking for authentic Cuban food in Tampa this is the place.

El Paraiso Cafe was a small and fast place for service. It’s located next to an industrial plant so they get lots of clientele. I arrived with a friend of mine and we were served despite this and they prepared it quickly and efficiently. I didn’t get to try what my friend had but I I ordered three empanadas and paid for my friends meal too along with 2 cans of coke. It came out to a total of 17 dollars so that wasn’t bad at all since the other food item was a large breakfast bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The atmosphere was good and felt homely! It was a little dirty near the front door but then again, there were workers coming in and taking dirt from the worksite nextdoor. The food was tasty without being greasy and I recommend that others try this place if they are nearby and looking for a snack!

This placa is very informal. The personal aren’t the most polite people, they do not greet, nor is the client a priority, but the lady treats you with kindness. The food is really good of home flavor (Cuban). The Best price in the area $6.50 for this lunch. I recommend it for workers, people who eat outside, to go.

If you looking for excellent food for a fair price this is your place. Forget about how look from outside, if the reason of your visit is have a good lunch or meal, you arrived to the place. I tried white rice, black beans with beef with olives with tomato sauce and yuca. The place is clean inside and have a very friendly staff. This place is recommended. I’ll back again for my lunch. Love it.

Food is excellent! I’m telling you, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a party in my mouth y’all with the various seasonings and blend of Latin cuisine. I enjoyed the pulled pork, plantains, yellow rice, black beans. It’s worth the drive.

I pass this place daily and thought I’d give it a try. Big mistake. The place is dirty despite the lingering smell of cleaning products. You can even see the cleaning supplies directly under where they prep food. The food counter was bare with the exception of a pile of burnt bacon. Large communication wall too. The employees barely spoke English and seemed upset that I didn’t speak Spanish. . . go figure. I’m Asian! Cold bacon and eggs, butter soaked toast, barely warm cheese grits. . . not worth the $4 even if it is a large portion. I honestly can’t see how they stay open. I would never recommend the place nor return.
