It’s rare to find a Mexican restaurant serving explosive yet clean, light, and savory dishes. The music, infused with a sassy Latin flair, perfectly complemented the staff’s cheerful smiles and attentive service. I ordered the salmon, which had an airy, flawless texture, enhanced by mangoes and red peppers that added a tropical heat. The Spanish rice was flavorful and delicate. Finally, I discovered a tantalizing roasted zucchini surprise, complemented by peppers, onions, and bacon. 5 stars to our new favorite place.

El Padrino has good food and good drinks and we usually go there as a change of pace from our other go-to Mexican restaurants. Service is always good without being overbearing, and the place has a nice atmosphere. The bar area is separate from the dining area, so if you want to watch some sports on TV, ask to be seated in the bar area.
On this visit my wife had the Padrino Tacos and I had the Enchilada Dinner. Both were very good. We also had the House Margaritas and they were good, too.
We like El Padrino and give it our thumbs up!

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 17th birthday, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
The food was extremely disappointing. The ground beef and steak tasted as though they had been cooked in blood with no seasoning and then reheated. The green chili sauce had a strong metallic, canned flavor. The pico de gallo tasted old, like it had been pre-packaged and left too long. There were no authentic Mexican cheeses used, and the beans clearly came straight from a can.
Only one person at our table was asked how the food was within a few minutes of it being served, before we even had a chance to properly try it. After just a few bites, everyone at the table stopped eating because the food was so bad.
We brought our concerns to management, and they initially offered only 15% off a couple of meals. When my husband expressed that this wasn’t a fair resolution—especially since most plates were barely touched, the manager became defensive and said, “What do you want, it all for free?” He then abruptly took the receipt and comped the plates, but added an 18% gratuity based on the original total, which felt extremely inappropriate given the situation.
To add to the frustration, they do not allow outside birthday cakes and do not list prices on their menu, which feels very deceptive. The photos online do not depict how it really looks either.
We should have trusted our instincts when we walked in and saw a nearly empty restaurant during a Broncos/Bills game being streamed. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere. Only those who dont like flavor or seasoning will enjoy this place.

Food was terrible. Spanish rice was completely undercooked, beans were cold, and Carne Asada was somehow grainy. My wife had beef tacos and the corn tortillas were mushy. Very disappointing first time experience. And they weren’t even that busy when we went for the food to be that bad.

We stopped in for Happy Hour and an early dinner… 4pm on a Sat. Sparse crowd. Service and food was good and fast. One of the strange thing was that the menu had no prices. The waiter explained it was $6k a pop to change the menu when prices changed. He offered a handout later with the prices. A little strange… hahahaha. The $5 HH margarita was good but was from a machine. Chips and salsa were good. We probably will go back some time and try it again. Prices were slight high…?

We’ve been to this restaurant several times. And each time it gets better. If you order a rather basic lunch I’ll meal it will come out with very special seasoning and colorful presentation and it comes out rapidly, hot and with anything else you want. The flavors are extra special good and I see no reason to go anywhere else for Mexican food in Northern Colorado springs.

Waited 30 mins to order drinks after being sat. Then almost 20 more to get drinks and they were not busy. Food sucked. Out of 5 on use only 1 person actually ate. Lucky the salsa was good.

More like a 3.5. Everything tasted quite good. To nitpick, most vegetables were julienned so finely that they just scorched on the fajita plate. Everything could use more seasoning. Wait staff were very energetic and friendly, but missed out on asking to refill bar drinks. We had time for a 2nd and the restaurant was not busy. Will return, nice weekend dinner.
