The worst nachos
I have ever tried to eat. Used take out service sine I have never been here before did not know that they are right next door to my hotel. Nachos arrived cold and soggy. Could not heat them in microwave due to tin pan. But the worst part was the cheese was the consistency of water. And the chicken had no flavor. After a 16 hour drive going to bed hungry.

Excellent Service. Huge portions for an excellent price. Great food. Large restaurant with Live entertainment on weekends.
Easily accessible and great location with plenty of parking.

Nice place. Clean. Roomy. VERY reasonable prices. Didn’t have a good experience with the wait staff…friendly, but… came to the table took order, served drinks and never saw again.
The server who brought food used my used napkin to hand out hot plates and then returned to me never asking me if i needed another napkin…which i never got because the waitress never showed again.
My wife, on the way back from the restroom, got us our “to-go” boxes.
Never got a refill of chips, salsa, more napkins, or the check….went to pay and when asked “if everything was good?” told her everything including no check…there was no apology, no listening, no nothing, just took my money like a typical fast food robot and said “have a nice day.”
So…i will…from now on…have a nice meal…at EL PARREL in Martinsville just down the road on Commonwealth Blvd across from Walmart.

TEDDY CROCKER RATES EL NORTENO 5 STARS — “I’m so full, after eating at El Norteno’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant for the 1st time ever today. Let’s look at the word Authentic shall we. I’ve eaten Mexican Cuisine in Juarez, Tijuana, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Montana, New Mexico,Texas, California, Oregon and Washington state and I’m pretty sure those meals were Authentic, since we — America — took those lands away from the Brown People prior to the Spanish-American War.
Now I’m here in the Dirty Dirty South … and decide to eat at El Norteno today. GUESS WHAT …. Their Food is VERY MUCH SO AUTHENTIC and possess that Hispanic / Tex-Mex / Tejano / Chicano / Mexican / Latin American / Castilian taste that I’ve come to know like the back of my hand, as a 26 year veteran of eating Mexican Style Cuisine. I’d recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE! THE FOOD IS EL MEJOR-R-R (Anglais: “The Best”) !!!”

We had a wonderful time here. The service was timely, attentive and each of us was offered individual attention when needed. Chips & salsa were first, drink orders came promptly and we were chatting so much that the waitress came back three times for our entree orders – yet was still as pleasant as ever. Everything was delicious! When she learned that one of us was celebrating his birthday, she came back with a plate of churos and they even sang happy birthday (in Spanish ). We will come back here soon. Thank you! Couldn’t be better!

I have given this place multiple chances. Every time we go there we get food poisoning. Employees always give rude looks and our food will sit there waiting to be brought to us for 15 minutes. It’s cold when it arrives. Will never go here again because of how terrible it is. I work in the food industry so im very kind and patient with people, but every time? Won’t happen again.

Very unprofessional! I tried to pay for the food after waiting an extra 45 minutes. I assumed the meal was handled because of the untimely manner of the food being brought out. There were hardly any customers there so they were NOT BUSY! The manager called and I offered to pay for the food he replied “no it was fine”. Two days later they threatened to call the police. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. There are other great Mexican restaurants available in the area choose another one.

Decent Mexican restaurant with bar and small stage. Some music nights and plenty of alcohol. Two areas for a more quiet experience away from bar. Some outside seating. The food is good and the menu has a large choice. Waiters/waitresses can be hit-or-miss here, unfortunately. The management is always on the go and interested but the servers can sometimes forget what you asked for and just seem to be the weak link. Be ready to stay on top of the servers (some of them).
