Well I went here and placed a order to go. Asked for the green sauce to go with my meal and was told that they didn’t have green sauce. Note I had sat in the dining area waiting on this food and saw green sauce. Then she said ok it’s only for the tables. Not going back. There is too many Mexican restaurants with a better menu that serves all their customers! The cheese dip is velveeta melted with some seasonings not queso like you usually get in a Mexican restaurant. After the reviews I read I was kinda looking forward to this place and was greatly disappointed. The taco were good tho the only redeeming quality!

Came here for an early dinner with my family. The service was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive and the gentleman in the kitchen/at the register was very nice and helpful. The birria tacos were just okay but the beef torta was delicious. My toddler liked the cheeseburger.

Best Mexican food restaurant around! Very clean restaurant as well, employees are always so nice. Food is good quality. I used to drive to Murfreesboro if I wanted fajitas and cheese dip, but now I always go to El Monte Woodbury. Highly recommend.

Woodbury has surprised me with a lot of hidden gems. This Mexican restaurant didn’t fail. I went during lunch, and ordered the chicken fajitas. The owner and staff are very friendly and carry a great sense of joy. My food arrived at my table surprisingly fast! The portion sizes were above average. The fajitas, along with the fixings consisted of great flavor and quality.

So glad we came to El Monte, we are newbies to Woodbury and were missing our good Mexican food (even though driving to the ‘Boro isn’t bad it’s better to drive 5min)
Can’t wait to go back and try more menu items. The chips are pretty standard, nice and crispy, the salsa was delicious.
The chile toreados were my favorite.
The shredded chicken tacos with rice and beans were so good – we added cilantro and fresh onions for our kids.
My husband enjoyed the carnitas very much, they were stuffed with pork.
I had a side of rice, side of beans and diced tomatoes – the beans were fantastic & the rice was flavorful.
The house hot sauces were great as well.
Some things I hope to see in the future to step up the authenticity are; Mexican Aguas (Horchata – essentially rice milk, cinnamon and sugar, Jamaica – which is Hibiscus, water and sugar & Tamarindo -Tamarind, water and sugar), some more street taco flavors such as barbacoa, pibil, birria
I know they probably cater to the palate of area and adding above items may be wishful thinking but perhaps a monthly special
Anyways…give El Monte a try, a nice ethnic find in the middle of a nice small town!
Oh and they have a drive thru to boot!

Dont know what else i can really say bout this place besides the flattering yet seductive looks i give it when i go by. Lol. Seriously though, first time i looked it up was weird cuz it says Mia Cocina on its sign and El Monte online. Otherwise, this is. A great place to grab some delicious food and i always stop here when i get the chance.

Everything usually tastes great but this place is very expensive. I purchased three street tacos and a side of guacamole and it was $14. If you get the meal, which adds beans and rice, then that would total about $18 just for one person (including the guacamole). The food is so good, but this is not a place I can afford to regularly visit. You will get complimentary chips and salsa with your order, which is nice!
