**Experience**

This place is cozy and I came here because San Luis was closed but I have already been here twice this week.

**Service**

I was met with what I wanted to drink pretty quick and placed my order when .y coffee arrived. My cup stayed pretty full the entire time of my visit so I was pretty happy with the service. Lady stopped by a few times so service was good.

**Food**
I ordered the Pozole and it was fantastic. I honestly need to know what chili they use because the flavor is amazing. I would definitely recommend. Tacos were soft and very tasty.

**Overall Experience**

Overall this place was a great spot to eat at and you wont ha e to worry about getting your order taken during the week. Fast service and delicious food. I would stop by here if you want some tasty tacos or pozole.

Everything we ate was absolutely perfect. We got nachos, a quesadilla and the barbacoa plate. All the meat had amazing flavor. The tortillas and chips were so good and the wild cactus they had with the barbacoa was such a compliment. We wanted to eat every speck but couldn’t manage it- we will have delicious leftovers!

My husband and I were driving by after completing a delivery in the area. We’re originally from North Houston. We wanted some authentic Mexican food and chose the spot mainly for the parking space. Overall the atmosphere was nice, the service was great. The only thing that I wasn’t 100% satisfied was the food. It was good but I expected better. I ordered the camarones a la diabla. I’m used to it being served pretty SPICY. There was no kick to the salsa, and the melted cheese over the shrimp was a bit overkill. Cheese was unnecessary in my opinion. Nonetheless, I ate everything off the plate. So it was good, just not what I expected. I would still visit for a quick meal if we’re ever in the area again.

El Molcajete: A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering (5 Stars!)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Forget “good” – El Molcajete is phenomenal. Forget “stellar service” – it’s warm and welcoming. Forget “mind-blowing atmosphere” – it’s clean, comfortable, and exactly what a family-run restaurant should be.

Here’s the thing: I’ve eaten at countless Mexican restaurants. Some were amazing, some were…well, not. But El Molcajete stands out. It’s not trying to be the flashiest, but it delivers on what truly matters: exceptional food and genuine hospitality.

The flavors are out of this world. The Plato Tejano? A fiesta for your taste buds! Enchiladas De Queso? Creamy, cheesy heaven. Every bite is a testament to deliciousness.

And the service? Friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. Sure, there might be a mop bucket tucked away (who cares?), but it doesn’t take away from the warm and inviting atmosphere.

So, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food cooked with love and served with a smile, look no further than El Molcajete. You won’t regret it! Trust me, your taste buds (and your belly) will thank you.

P.S. Don’t miss the Plato Tejano and Enchiladas De Queso – they’re life-changing!

Kust a hole in the wall, but the food is mediocre. Reasonibly priced. The food I received was only warm. Food was not great. Service was fair. Staff was not friendly at all.

First time visiting here. I had the carne guisada plate with rice and refried beans. Very tasty with good spices. The flour tortillas were ok but not the best. Good service from a friendly server. Good location.

I had the bistec ranchero plate. The meat was soft and not dry. Very flavorful dish. I loved that they served freshly made corn and flour tortillas. When in San Antonio, it’s my go to place. Prices are also very reasonable.
