Stopped in for dinner with my fiance. We loved our food. I got the molcajete special and it was fantastic! The boar had my entree steaming hot! I LOVED it! Rice was on point also. Waitress was very attentive and polite. Well definitely be back!!

I was disappointed… The hostess was nice but everything wasn’t great. Maybe I came at a bad time? Not sure. The food wasn’t good. 1 bite and I immediately left. I never thought I could immediately become depressed from one bite of food before. But I guess there’s a first time for everything. Chips and salsa were okay though.

I discovered this place years ago, it *was* a hidden gem… the quality and service have gone downhill fast. The food is more and more watered down and skimpier portions each time I order it. Tonight’s experience is the final straw… the restaurant did not follow my instructions, the tortas were mostly bread and veggies, nothing that I ordered was as good as it used to be just a couple years ago… onto the next one! I am a loyal Latin food enthusiast, and El Molcajete has lost my business for good.

This place has the potential to be great but the quality of food and service is so inconsistent that I can’t even recommend it to anyone. The first time I placed an order, I got the sopa de pollo and the shrimp salad. The soup was great but they left out the salad dressing(!) and by the time I got home, they had already closed. I’ve ordered the chicken soup and Asada tacos many times – via Door Dash / phone – and it’s becoming very obvious that they don’t bother to read instructions or update their menu. The last time we ordered through Door Dash, they didn’t let us know they were out of ceviche until AFTER I arrived to pick it up (we made sure they had more than enough time to prepare the food and I still had to wait once I got there) and then the employee told me she doesn’t know to work the register to refund us for it (she didn’t seem to care to try either) and proceeded to give me a cash refund and laugh. Tonight, I ordered the chicken soup and it is TERRIBLE. This is the first time they just threw in CHUNKS of chicken SKIN and it tastes so salty, it’s as if someone dumped a bunch of salt in it and didn’t even bother to taste it. I couldn’t even handle more than a few spoons of it and I usually eat the entire thing. Moreover, when I walked in the door to pick up my order, the guy at the front just looked at me and never even bothered to say anything. With the last two DD orders I placed for the tacos, I specifically stated in the instructions to not include any onions but they did it anyway. I hope management reads all of these reviews and steps up their quality of service. Very disappointing and I don’t think I’ll be ordering here anymore. The quality of the food and service does not match the cost of it
