El Michoacano Restaurant truly impressed me with its generous portions and flavorful dishes. The seafood and meats are delicious, and the servings are big enough to satisfy even the hungriest appetite.
The shrimp burrito ahumado (wet) is seasoned to perfection, with shrimp cooked just right, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The carne asada burrito is massive, and every bite fills your entire mouth. Fair warning: it requires plenty of jaw action, but it is absolutely worth it. Yum.
When I cannot decide what to order, the two item combo with a chicken enchilada and crunchy beef taco hits the spot every time. The beans taste just like Nana used to make: refried, creamy, perfectly salted, and seasoned with all the right spices. The rice is juicy, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with everything on the plate.
Overall, I left with that pleasantly plump and satisfied feeling after a great meal. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for relaxed and enjoyable conversation. A wonderful spot I am excited to return to to try their monster drink cocktail menu and more seafood.

We had an amazing experience at El Michoacano VIP! I ordered the ceviche de pescado y camarón, and it was so fresh and delicioso! My husband had the queso birria tacos—absolutely outstanding—and the bacon-wrapped shrimp, which were perfectly cooked. Our server Diana was amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The whole place had such a great vibe—fun, welcoming, and full of energy. We’ll definitely be back!

The atmosphere here was so cool very fun and welcoming! The service was so attentive and the food was great . I came here for lunch but I bet its really fun during night life. I can tell why this place is popular! The seating is so comfortable great place for any occasion. Highly recommend I loved my enchiladas

I went for my birthday dinner here the food it’s alright nothing major there is some food that lacks on flavor but nothing they can’t fix. I don’t recommend the house shots get a mixed drink instead. They lagged it on our drink probably due to us being a party of 10 but other than that everything was great customer service was good the waiters were on it and pretty as well and the little light show they put on was great just charged me $24 for that which was for the 2 shots and the candle $2.99 which wasn’t bad I always come here of a party of 4 and won’t change this spot high recommend for a day or friends gathering.

First visit found through Google maps. Quite random really but am sure glad we found it. We went during their last few hours of service as we travel our way north returning from Monterey. Anyway, all service was handled in the VIP room so the ambiance is more bar like completely with laser lights, loud music and festive shots being served. We had hope the food was good and frankly, very surprised at what we experienced. Flavors were on point and delicious. OMG, it was so good. My wife’s seafood tostada was awesome. My Chile Relleno was amazing. Refried beans and Mexican rice was perfectly seasoned. Freshly made flour tortillas topped off our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning next time we travel through Hwy 101.

What a wonderful experience I felt whisked away to Mexico with this authentic adventure of wonderful Mexican food that is so tasty and good. This place is huge and has drinks with lights that h Fb one in enclosed lanterns filled with smoke! Not joking this place is legit! I had the mixed fajitas with a margarita and it didn’t disappoint. The service was really good too, our waitress was always checking in on us and making sure we were having the time of our lives. This place has huge murals on the walls and party lights so we only came for lunch but this place looks like it gets down at nighttime! Gotta come back and get a bucket of beers, definitely the closest thing to actual Mexico that I’ve ever experienced!

Late lunch in Gilroy. Delicious authentic Mexican food. The interior decor is beautiful. Murals are pretty to look at. The menudo has alot of good flavor. Enchilada plate was more than enough. We ordered a side of guacamole. Michelada was a good addition to our meal.

First time here and can safely say they have authentic Michoacano Mexican food. The atmosphere is very cool with street art, indoor/outdoor seating, and many decorative aspects like lanterns, etc. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food is served hot and delicious. Tortillas taste homemade and flavors of their dishes well balanced. I highly recommend the shrimp diablo if you love spicy food! The cocktails and ceviche looked soo good, and the fish looked fresh. This place has quite a bit of charm it’s definitely a little gem tucked in the corner of a shopping center. Would definitely return for more. Prices were very fair for the food quality.

Sea Food tostada was just OK since it seemed frozen and burritos were basic but the wet one was better.
Beans and Rice left something to be desired and drinks would have been considerably better.
Overall good but wouldn’t go out of our way to come back.
