This place has a wonderful environment and staff and food. Highly recommend the birria tacos. They bring your chips and salsa free as you’re seated. Menu prices are good and the food is very delicious. Very East Coast vibes for a Mexican restaurant. You know it’s good when you get a gigantic plastic cup for your drink cup. 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered nachos. They were a special/new menu item, and I cannot remember the name – nor is it listed on their online menu. The menu description does include the word spicy, so I was forewarned. Let me say it was at my upper threshold of spice. My nose was running and my lips felt like they were beginning to swell … but it was so good! I did need additional sour cream beyond what is shown in the photo to help cool it down a bit.
First time visitors should be aware, the building has seen better days, and it is not located in the typical restaurant area of town. Don’t let the location or apparent lack of building maintenance throw you – get in the door and order.

Great atmosphere and food. One of the servers was obviously annoyed with our group (birthday party of a coworker). He wasn’t real bad. Perhaps just having a bad day. Salsa is some of the best I’ve had in a while.

Family friendly establishment, authentic decor and delicious food and not that long of wait for food to come out

First time customer. Birria bowl was really good. The Mexican street corn was not fresh. Would not order that again. Chips and salsa was above average. The smoked margarita tasted like orange juice. Decent chips and salsa. Service was average. Probably won’t be back again.

“El Mezquite: A Fiesta of Love”

As we stepped into El Mezquite, hand in hand, the soft glow of the twinkling lights cast a magical spell over us. The warm embrace of the vibrant décor whispered tales of romance and adventure. It was the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening.

We started our culinary journey with a bowl of queso dip, rich and velvety, like a sonnet written just for us. The dance of flavors on our tongues was a poetic prelude to the symphony that awaited us. My beloved’s eyes sparkled with delight as we shared tender moments and tasted the essence of Mexico together.

The tacos arrived, each bite a passionate embrace of succulent carne asada, wrapped in the tenderest of tortillas. It was as if the chef had crafted these delights with the same care and devotion that we felt for each other. The enchiladas, smothered in a luscious sauce, were a testament to the depth of our affection, each mouthful leaving us yearning for more.

Alas, the salsa, fiery and intense, ignited a playful fire between us. My love’s cheeks flushed with a rosy hue, and our laughter echoed through the air, a sweet serenade to our evening. Though the spiciness might have been a tad too much for us, it only added to the passionate experience.

El Mezquite, with its enchanting ambiance and delectable fare, wove a tale of love and togetherness. While we might return with a gentle warning about the salsa, the memories we created will forever be etched in our hearts.

The food and service were amazing. I got the Burrito Monterrey. I found the staff to be a little loud to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, and the leather on all of the benches needs to be repaired. The prices were point on to what I have become seen elsewhere.

Always a great experience eating here! The food is amazing and they took great care of our group of over 20. Tried the burrito loco and it was delicious. Be sure to try the horchata and of course their complimentary chips and salsa are always on point. Will definitely be back!
