The food is beyond expectation! Taco de pescado is full of corn flavor, fish fried at perfect tender, balanced with mango dices. Carnitas negras is thoroughly marinated with herb spice, big portion, with fresh lightly sour vegetable. Tortillas are freshly baked, excellent! Churros are harder than those from street carts.

Very authentic ant tasty Mexican restaurant. We had guacamole and queso fondito (not pictured, it was so good I forgot to take a pic). Guac was very good too. Had the ribs and a steak, chicken and shrimp dish in a hot lava bowl. Both also recommended. The only drawback is the prices are a little high for the type of food. We had two drinks and one beer and a dessert. With tip and tax the meal was $180 for two.

This place is a diamond in the rough, truly a hidden gem. Excellent cocktails, ceviche, guac, nachos and pizza. We didn’t have a chance to try the tacos or mains but they also looked incredible. Great service. Come here for mouth watering authentic Mexican cuisine but be warned that it will alter your standards when you’re craving this fair. Will be coming back real soon

Our first time here at this lovely restaurant. We went for happy hour and it was great! Oscar, the bartender made a great margarita and an awesome sangria. Alex, our server, was so professional and friendly. I always ask a lot of questions, and he was not bothered at all. The restaurant is bright, clean and the food is so very good. The wings were cooked to perfection and their “secret sauce” really is delicious! The tacos DeTrompo were one of my favorites and to my surprise they have a brick oven and we also enjoyed a most delicious pepperoni and cheese pizza. Oscar was also kind enough to let me taste his salmon, which he was being served and seeing to me it was cooked to perfection, I asked if I could try and he, just like I was family, gave me a sample, and it was so very good. To top off our anniversary dinner, we shared a most delicious chocolate flan cake, which was absolutely fresh and delicious! Judy, another server came over to talk with us and she was so very nice. So glad we visited this restaurant and hope to return again. My compliments to the chefs, the food is delicious! Alex, Oscar and Judy, thank you for making us feel like family!

Best Mexican place in Philly. Feels like you’re at a Michelin Star restaurant without the prices. Special seasoning, delicious drinks, quick food and service. Service was cracking jokes, always making sure we were taken care of, they were 10/10. Highly recommend and will be my new spot food. They have outdoor seating, bar inside and plenty of seating inside. Ambience was great, amazing selection of dishes and drinks. They serve pizza as well if you aren’t in the mood for tacos. Happy hour tues-sun 4-6pm.

I recently dined at El Mezcal Cantina and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Chilango chicken wings seasoned with Tajín, which were absolutely delicious and had just the right kick of chili powder. The variety of ceviches we tried were all delightful, but the one with passion fruit was a standout favorite among our group. The owner personally greeted us and inquired about our dining experience, which added a special touch to the evening. The service from all the waitstaff and employees was exceptional, and the bartender even went above and beyond to craft a delicious mocktail for me when I opted not to drink alcohol. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with great food and wonderful service. Highly recommended!

Such a warm and friendly place. The servers were inviting and checked on us frequently during our time there. We got the chipotle guacamole, pizza, and enchilada. The food was authentic, tasty, and well seasoned. The cocktails were delicious and fresh.

The bartenders and servers are always super welcoming, friendly, and attentive! The beef nachos are incredible. The wings are next-level—some of the best I’ve had in the city. You have to try the Tacos del Trompo; they’re super flavorful and available during happy hour! The Michelada with Pacifico is a 10/10. I’m so happy to have such an awesome spot in my neighborhood. We ordered the agua fresca, El golfo (aguachile) and the Al Pastor Pizza.
I’m assuming our orders weren’t complimentary. We lost our appetite from the aguachile and the agua fresca because the combination was too sour for our palette. Didn’t taste any spice from the aguachile.
We ordered the Al Pastor Pizza since a reviewer recommended it. It was a bit dry and it tasted alright.

Delicious. Great cocktails, great food, great dessert. The nachos were incredible. Even the pizza was incredible (we got La Callejera pizza). I also loved “La Montada”, which is a glorified Huarache with sirloin and nopal and delicious salsa. The aguachile is solid (although I prefer the other things). For dessert, the lava cake is out of this world, a must try if you like dessert. My fiancée loves the mole enchiladas (and I also loved them). The drinks are delicious and strong. Go here and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed.
