Really a pleasant surprise, some of the most authentic tacos I’ve ever had. I enjoyed 6 in total each with a different meat. I only wish I had room to try all of them. Short menu with several meat combinations to mix in.

Taqueria el Mexicano was my favorite spot on the State Street Taco Tour. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Inside there is lots of space and lots of great food. They have a wide selection of meats to choose from. They also have real sugar cane Coca Cola.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. It was quiet. Food was as good as I remembered. Chose the Cuban Torta this time. Have had the tacos and burritos other times. Every time has been great and reasonable prices. I ate half the Torta before thinking to take a picture and get a short rest before finishing this off. Very filling meal and was served with chips and salsa.

I just came back to El Mexicano after many years and it is wonderful to see that the location has been well maintained and very clean. My friend from Mexico thought that his Torta had a true traditional Mexican flavor. So I can wholeheartedly recommend El Mexicano. Now, keep in mind that it is not a fancy place, it is a humble restaurant with awesome cuisine and caring staff.

Best truly authentic Mexican restaurant in town. They have a wide variety of entree’s including healthy choices. Good portion sizes. I had a Delicious steak taco, beans and rice. All very tasty. The steak was tender without being greasy. My 1st taco that had a flattened bowl shaped double corn shell. So, the shell didn’t break apart at bottom causing ingredients to fall out. All topping were fresh. My friend brought me take out so I didn’t go inside. However, pictures posted by others display the large selection of delicious foods, a clean restaurant and family/friend atmosphere. Hopefully, we can start doing indoor dining soon. I can’t wait to taste more of their scrumptious foods.

The food was delicious and very well priced. Their barbacoa is packed with flavor and their lengua is well seasoned and melts in your mouth. They also have a great selection of soft drinks, including Jarritos and a wide variety of Jumex juices. The staff was also kind and helpful and gave great service.

Delicious tacos but much more than just those. Employee who greeted me and took my order both times is very friendly. It’d be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like once we’re out of this quarantine. Hard to tell when it’s empty how much of a bar vibe they’re going for. Whether you care for the atmosphere or not, no reason not to grab some excellent tacos for home.

I come here often. It’s a little hole in the wall, but it’s very good and the service is good too. I believe it’s only one server, so sometimes there’s a wait which i’m okay with. I love their tortas, and their tacos! The prices are great too. I love how it’s a little garage, it might be old to some people but I don’t mind at all! Everyone there is really nice and kind!

I’m an Amazon Deliver Driver and I regularly have a route in Columbus. I stopped by for the first time at lunch and ordered a Torta Cubana. It tasted amazing, and was brought out to me fast. Was not overly greasy at all. Simple and delicious. Nice atmosphere with music playing. I loved it so much, I stopped by the same day at the end of my shift and ordered the same thing. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting great tasting food and friendly staff.
