Combinacion Fajitas are the best! Very fulfilling. Its a small inside but lots of room outside if you don’t mind the sound of the train if it passes by. The customer service was amazing everyone is so friendly. Definitely going back so delicious

Always consistently outstanding and authentic. Again and again, each time we visit the food is outstanding and the staff treats us like family. It’s always a treat to us. The shrimp salad in particular is one of the top two i’ve ever tasted in my life. El Mexicali is a special place and unique dining experience that is absolutely authentic.

Highly recommend this place. Drivers traveling on the I-10 it is not far to exit freeway for a good plate of home made food.

Popular with retirees. It tastes okay – it’s certainly not authentic Mexican food. Their “original” stuffed yellow peppers comes with explicit directions from the waitresses to squeeze lemon on it, pour soy sauce on it, and lather it up with mayonnaise.

Really good food. Serves chips and salsa. We had one of their most famous appetizers called “yellow peppers” stuffed with shrimp. It was delicious, and had a kick to it spice wise. Service was just as good.

Must try if you are passing by! Had a shrimp stuffed pepper and delicious pork with their special green sauce. Was in and out within 40 mins- great service, which I truly appreciate. Thank you!!

We used to stop here every time we came through Indio. The food used to be excellent but now it’s not worth the one star it’s getting. I got the fish tacos this time and they were watery. I’ve never had watery taco before; bland!! Just awful! I seriously doubt we’ll go back when we travel through there. To top off the meal we had two large flies keep our group company. They finally got my plate and I hope they enjoyed it.

Went in for a bite to eat, driving home from visiting family in Mexico. It was a very bad experience. Took about n hour to get our food. Ordered fish tacos and they were so soggy and without flavor. They were catering to the non Hispanics sitting there having drinks. Not real Mexican food. Bland!! Plus flies galore…not going back. Not sure why people give it good scores.

This place has the best chorizo and papas hands down. This is the only thing I order now. I had the chilaquiles but I was not impressed. It’s small inside so be careful if you take a big group. The restrooms are ouside.
