Ordered 3 tacos, supposed to come with lettuce and cheese. 2 had lettuce, one had cheese. Asked for a small side of cheese sauce for chips, charged for large. Many other places to spend yp5ur money. Place is horrible.
Ate lunch here with a large group of friends, selected because they had a vegan option. Ordered the veggie fajitas with no cheese, no sour cream. Staff was great, they immediately started taking beverage orders and everyone enjoyed the chips and salsa. Everyone liked the food and service, wish I lived closer to return regularly.
Service: 5 stars Value: Good (good portion size for price) 5 Taste: 5 stars
We got there for lunch, right as they opened…maybe that was it? The lunch fajitas need salt…like zero in the recipe.
So…yeah. Very so-so meal.
First off, the chips and salsa? Forget about it! Fresh, crunchy, and that salsa? It was like a fiesta in my mouth! My son, little Timmy, who usually only eats hot dogs and freedom fries, was practically inhaling the stuff. I had to tell him, “Timmy, son, pace yourself! We got a whole enchilada mountain to climb!”
Speaking of enchiladas, I ordered the “Super Grande Burrito,” and let me tell you, it was bigger than my head! I felt like a real conquistador taking down that bad boy. The flavor? Oh, it was like a fireworks display of spices! My wife, bless her heart, got the chicken fajitas, and they were sizzling like a July 4th barbecue. She said, and I quote, “Honey, this is better than my casserole.” And that’s high praise, folks!
Now, the service? Top-notch! Our waitress, sweet as apple pie, kept our drinks full and our chips overflowing. She even laughed at my jokes! I told her, “Why did the tomato turn red? Because it saw the salad dressing!” She just chuckled and said, “You’re a funny guy, sir!” I felt like a regular Don Rickles.
The atmosphere? Pure Americana! They had those colorful blankets hanging on the walls, and the music was playing just loud enough to make you wanna do a little salsa dance in your seat. I almost asked my wife to cut a rug, but she gave me that look, you know the one.
Now, I’m not gonna lie, I was a little nervous going in. I’m a meat-and-potatoes kinda guy, but El Mex? They converted me! I’m now a full-fledged burrito believer! I’m even thinking about getting a sombrero for my next visit.
So, if you’re ever in Inman, South Carolina, and you’re looking for a good time and some great grub, head on over to El Mex. You won’t be disappointed! Just remember, pace yourself with the chips, and don’t forget to tell your waitress a good joke. You’ll be a hero! Now if you will excuse me, I need a nap. All this talk about food has made me hungry again.
