As a lover of Mexican food I quite liked this place. The chicken and steak is cooked well and has a distinct flavor. The service was also extremely active, constantly checking up to make sure we were enjoying our food and to refill our cups. They were very polite and very efficient in their work, cleaning tables just as soon as the customers finished and left. I’d also like to note how charming the establishment looks. It’s a small area but it’s split into two rooms, both have large glass panels that allow you to see the city outside. The restaurant has faux plants like vines that trail down the walls and foliage wrapped around the central lights. There is also a bar there, but we didn’t go there as we weren’t interested nor are we of legal age to drink. I ordered the Fajita Chimichanga with chicken as my friend who accompanied me ordered a Tropical Fajita. We were both very delighted by our meals and ate everything in full and we had a very satisfying time together.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. Not crowded at all, very clean. Server was extremely nice. Food was also very good. Free chips and salsa, chips were very big. Salsa was okay, not hot version given with chips. Our appetizer, Choriqueso was a bit thin. Birria tacos were very good. The best? Not sure, but we are also from Chicago area. Definitely worth the visit. Prices are good too.

I ate here this evening and found the food to not be very good. The rice had a bad flavor and my chicken dish was very watery. A bright side was the service. Keyring C was my server and she was excellent. Also, the resturant was clean and the decor was inviting . The foor just wasn’t up to what I would expected.

This place is absolutely horrible. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Our friend had a 6 inch long hair stuck into her food, and they refused to do anything. Would recommend people to stay away from this place. They also charge extra for everything you think of. This place won’t last long doing this bs.

Overall, service sells this place. Great service. The convenience to campus is great. What I couldn’t figure out is how empty the restaurant was in the dead center of the dinner hour.

My fajita taco salad was very mediocre, but the remainder of the food was great.

I would come back again.

I used door dash for a delivery order. I ordered the 3 tamales with enchilada sauce and 3 cheese enchiladas, both had the same sauce on top. That sauce was like none I’ve ever tasted, it was nasty. It had like a hint of cinnamon flavor and looked like diarrhea, sorry to be so graphic. I threw both away.

The service was horrible, my friends and I were only checked on once within an hour and a half of being there without having to call our waitress to come take our order. I have also never paid for chips and salsa at a mexican resturaunt and it was $3 here. We were also told after ordering she would not give us the discount advertised because she “already put it in the system”.

When I heard El Mariachi was coming to campus (or very close) I was excited. I frequent the location in Hamburg. I tried this location for the first time today and the did not disappoint. It was just as delicious as the Hamburg location and the service was also super friendly. I called in the order and it was ready and still hot when I arrived. Having this restaurant within walking distance of my work is going to be dangerous to my pocketbook.

It was okay! The taco with the broth was a little strange, and messy to consume. I regretted getting it to be honest. It just wasn’t for me …. Overall it was a well rounded experience. It was above average food. The atmosphere was ok. Trivia guy was great and considerate of the guests and his amps volume. The decor wasn’t too wild …. very safe … On the same level as Chilis, Outback, but with a more Mexican twist. The service was okay. The restrooms were spotless extra clean… Outside parking lot was avg …. Tea was good…. Was it worth the price…. Sure I’d definitely go back but I’d try something else. I still give this 5.1 out of 6 stars. It’s easy to impress, but hard to wow. Between stars 5-6 is where the magic happens without taking away from the business.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! My friends and I went to get food, drinks, and appetizers, and were met with very rude people, and unreasonable requests. They told us we had to pay for more chips, even though there was 5 of us drinking and eating, and it took 15 minutes just to get a refill. If you went mexican, just go to Cinco De Mayo!
