Ended up here last night for dinner simply because we couldn’t decide on a place and it looked ok when we drove by. Staff was friendly and inviting, food was all AMAZING….like really good. The only thing we agreed on was the salsa was just ok. Still good, but have definitely had better. Would definitely go back. Just started a 6 day trip….may come back again before we leave…

We had the absolute worst experience dining here for my brother-in-law’s birthday. From the moment we were seated, it went downhill. We waited over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged and get drinks. No one checked on us, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic things, including a high chair for my niece, which should not have taken multiple requests.
It got even more frustrating when we asked to speak to a manager. When she finally came over, my mom spoke to her respectfully about our concerns. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, she responded by saying she could “do whatever she wants” and treat people however she wants because it’s her restaurant. That level of unprofessionalism and disrespect was shocking.
To make matters worse, the bathrooms were disgusting — there was feces all over the toilet. Completely unacceptable. Our food also came out cold, and we noticed tables that were seated after us receiving their food before we did.
Overall, this was beyond disappointing, especially for a birthday celebration. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you have concerns, don’t expect management to handle them professionally based on our experience.

Best Mexican in town! Service is always A+… friendly, quick, & always willing to go the extra mile. On top of the amazing margs, the food is absolutely amazing. We go about 1x a week at this rate and never had a bad experience!

This was our first time at the restaurant. We decided try this after seeing so many great reviews. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was not busy. Our food arrived in a timely manner. My taco salad was quite bland. My wife didn’t get the food that she ordered. No one came to check on us or refill our drinks even though several staff members were standing at the entrance. We had to signal a staff member to be able order dessert for our son and to get the bill. The only time they acknowledged us was when we paid the bill. We don’t plan on coming back.

I just got married and wanted to eat somewhere close by and I’m very glad I came here, I ordered the California burrito and as you can see, it was very good, I ate all of it and didn’t have any left to take home. It is a big burrito as well, I ate some of my wife’s steak and it was really delicious I will definitely get that next time! The staff is very welcoming and bilingual too, my mother and cousin and her friend speak Spanish but I didn’t learn very well but they were perfectly able to understand me thank you all!

Coming from California we have high expectations for what we consider great Mexican food. We know Iowa isn’t know for their Mexican food, but … this place does! I felt right at home and truly enjoyed every bite. A gem of a place in this lake town. We will be back! But first we have to eat our leftovers. The portions were big!

The folks here are very aware and helped us with our gluten-free needs. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and they were good too. The food was delicious.
