I contacted this restaurant for my parent’s 49th anniversary celebration and they were the only restaurant in Edwardsville that was willing to accommodate 45 people the day after Thanksgiving. The customer service was excellent. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. My family had a great time. I recommend this restaurant to Anyone that wants to enjoy good Mexican food. Thank you, El Maguey For your customer service and your accommodation of such a large group. We really appreciate you and we will be back next year.

It was extremely obvious that we were going to be treated poorly after we were put into a corner obscured from view and given honestly the worst service I have experienced in my adult life dining out.
Mind you, as a middle class black person, I grew up seeing my military Colonel father be given poor service off the assumption he would not tip. Having something similar happen to me was disheartening. I give people a lot of grace as prior to my professional career, I worked in the food service industry as a waitress at three different restaurants. As a former police officer and just someone who is not stupid when it comes to deciphering things, it was clearly obvious the cooks had completed our food, it was sitting on a window to be picked up for several minutes before a chef brought it out right before the temp would have been too low to serve us. They said the plate was hot but I immediately picked it up with both hands lukewarm. There are basic chemistry equations to calculate the amount of heat lost over time in a room temperature environment, you don’t need to lie to me or assume my friend who works for the local university and I deserve to be given poor quality of service off your assumptions. I have never tipped sub 20 percent in the past eight years except last night. No water brought, did not check on is at all besides an inordinate amount of time and I requested the check in a cordial yet firm manner. I would not recommend any LGBTQ visible people come here. I try to give people a chance and normally do not make a move of writing poor reviews. Last week a waitress spilled tea on me at a place in Belleville, it was a total accident and stuff happens I’m not that type of person.
This was unacceptably poor service that made me feel I wasted my money and also supported the mistreatment of my friend who asked me if I get worse service when I go to places with him which was quite sad.

Honestly my favorite restaurant in Edwardsville, the food is phenomenal and the service is always good everytime me and my family drop by to eat, thankfully as well it never really gets too loud in this restaurant either so it’s really not over stimulating if anyone was worried about the noise. The kid meal option is great, my baby sister loves eating the kid menu more than anything !! I just absolutely love this restaurant, the food is fairly authentic as well! Recommend anyone wanting to eat there to definitely try it out, the food is DELICIOUS

Overall this is an amazing pick to get Mexican cuisine in the Edwardsville area. Some food can be on the salty side and the service can be a little slow, hence the 4 star rating. However, that being said the dishes all have large portions and the drinks menu is quite vast. A cool 2 floor dining room makes it feel nice and spacious while having adequate seating so usually there is never a wait. The fajita nachos are a must try and the Mexican rice is very good as well. If you like margaritas and a nice spacious restaurant to enjoy with family and friends this is the place for you.

I ordered a taco salad, which cost me $13! It was hardly worth that, not very big and hardly had any lettuce or tomato, and the tortilla was mushy. I was not impressed at all, too bad I was really in the mood for a great taco salad. Used to get better taco salads from Taco Bell, wish they still made them.

I placed an order online with the understanding that the restaurant was open until 10:30pm. I walked in at 10:20pm to pick up my order and the manager said that they closed at 10pm. I advised that online it stated that they are open until 10:30pm. The manager stated that he just let an employee walk out with our food. My daughter did not get her dinner tonight because the manager gave her food away to an employee. I am extremely disappointed in the way this was handled.
