We love this place and go all the time. They are very family friendly and dont mind if my 1 year old crawls around and plays in their patio while we wait for food. They are very accommodating and always have been. Even years ago the waiter I had saw my Spanish flash cards and started helping me study. The food has always been delicious and the drinks are great.

We’ve eaten here for years and never had a problem until Dec 19th. We found a roach in our enchiladas. The girl at the desk was very professional and gave us a full refund but I will never eat here again.

We ate at El Maguey for the first time today, and it was great!!! We live about half an hour away, but we will be back for sure! Four very satisfied customers here, even my picky kid loved his food.
The restaurant is pretty and clean. Our servers were very friendly and efficient. Definitely would recommend it.

Very disgusted with the service we received today. My husband & I both ordered LUNCH menu items. He was charged the 9.99 & mine was SUPPOSE to be 9.99 but she charged 12.99 for a taco salad. When we asked all she said was my mistake I charged dinner prices. Wouldn’t get the manager or change it. We were frustrated & no one came to our table & no one was the front to discuss it. Needless to say NO TIP was left but it’s a dirty way to do business. Won’t be back…everyone WATCH your bill! ( Name on receipt for server was Susana)

The food was amazing! We were traveling through and met a local friend there. It was so good from the chips, salsa and beans to the main course! Everyone was full and happy when we left. The portions were great. We even packed up our extra food for later because it was so good!
The staff was awesome, kind, and helpful.
If we lived local, it would be a favorite for sure!

I grew up in California where the Mexican food is amazing. This place had good food. Salsa was ok. But the chipotle chicken was pretty bomb. Rice & beans are also delicious.

I told the front staff who looked to be the manager, I have a shrimp allergy, which was acknowledged and still was told my food couldn’t be fixed unless I paid for an entirely new order. That’s not a preference, that’s a health and safety issue!

Once I disclosed a shrimp allergy and it was acknowledged, the correct response SHOULD have been to remake the order safely at no additional charge or refund the meal!!! Allergies are a food-safety issue, not a preference, and staff should never insist a customer pay for food they cannot safely consume. Employees need proper training on allergy protocols and how to handle these situations responsibly.

The way this was handled was careless and showed a serious lack of food-safety awareness. Charging someone for food they cannot safely eat after acknowledging an allergy is unacceptable. Because of how this was handled, I will be contacting the health department. Anyone with food allergies should be extremely cautious eating here.

I walked in and stood at the “Wait To Be Seated” sign for several minutes.

The hostess was busy on the phone.

Three waitresses were standing just behind the hostess station, chatting and laughing, but couldn’t be bothered to help the hostess.

I decided to leave. If this was the quality of the management and staff, I assume that the food would be of equal quality.

Our server was so rude. She didn’t refill our tea. I had to go find the manager to ask for more tea. The fajitas were undercooked. The young lady who was the manager was not helpful either. We go to the El Maguey in Pfafftown every week and the service and food is always on point! We will never come back here!
