I had a great time here for my birthday! The food was great and our server was very kind and funny. I really appreciated that they kept the doors locked while Minnesota is being invaded by unlawful masked agents. Made me want to support them even more. If anyone is considering going here please go and support our immigrant businesses! They are what make Minnesota great!

A bit tricky to find if you don’t know the area well, so just be aware:) It is a hidden gem ! We’ve never had to wait long to be seated. the staff is always quick, attentive, and friendly! Everyone in my party loved the meal they ordered. The lunch menu has a lot of great choices!Their chips and salsa is awesome. Drinks are always full! my brother and his wife love the tres leche cake , so we ordered 2 pieces between 4 of us, and it was finished:) The decor is my favorite of all! the paintings on the tables and chairs are so beautiful and colorful! The other location in bloomington had the same beautiful decor until they closed. If you want good american mexican, El Loro is a great choice! They have a really lovely bar area as well!

The decor is wonderful. Took us awhile to get water and drinks ..they weren’t even busy. I ordered a taco salad the bowl was inedible …we came to the conclusion it was fried in old oil. No one ever came to ask how the meal was….best meal ordered were vegetable fajitas …except three small tortillas was not enough for all the food.

I had high hopes for loving this place because it’s in my neighborhood. The burritos are really good however, I always say no sauce or sauce on the side and all three times I have been there they smother the burrito with sauce. Then. I feel like a jerk for complaining. So, great margaritas and yes they need to give you more chips with your cheese sauce.

El Loro is a local chain built one store at a time featuring all the favorites; Burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas all served fresh made and hot. The bar has great margaritas. My wife and I like to share a jumbo Margarita !!!!

Food and service were okay. We ordered cheese dip, still had most of it left when we ran out of chips. Our server took the basket and never brought or even asked if we wanted more, we got them after asking for more. Had our card out on the table and they never brought our bill so we told them to just take the card.

Will never go back again! The food was not good at all, the margaritas were pre-mix bad quality. They have a nice location and friendly servers but a restaurant lives on good food and drink. This fails badly at both. They also have a 5% surcharge for paying by credit card. Never again!!!

Overall I’d say El Loro is about a 3.5 to 4 stars. The portions to price point is good. But taste is okay. Nothing really stands out for me. Good drink specials and chips and salsa come to the table when you get there. I would’ve liked to have better service, fresher tortillas, not as dry meat. But covid might have played a part in these things and so I’m giving the a break.
