This restaurant is an absolute standout in Manuel Antonio!!!
The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and inviting, with an ambiance that immediately makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The staff are exceptional. Maribel and Jorge set the tone with their hospitality, and the entire team makes you feel genuinely cared for.
Kennet and Salon prepared fresh, crisp salads and vegetables, while Helen, the chef, grilled the steak tenderloin to perfection. It truly melted in your mouth.
The grilled chicken was perfectly seasoned, moist, and flavorful, served with beautifully cooked vegetables that were tender yet still crisp.
Service was seamless and attentive throughout, with Maria and Daniel making sure every detail was taken care of without ever being intrusive.
And then there’s the view . The Pacific Ocean stretching out in front of you, paired with a stunning sunset, is next-level!!! It’s the kind of view that makes you pause and just breathe it in.
11/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Manuel Antonio and Quepos area! You don’t want to miss this gem

Our honeymoon dinner at El Lagarto was absolutely unforgettable. Maria’s service was incredible, warm, attentive, and truly made us feel special from start to finish. The sunset view was breathtaking and set the perfect romantic atmosphere.
The food was phenomenal. We started with roasted garlic and seafood in white wine, then enjoyed the mixed meat plate for dinner, every bite was outstanding. The roasted tomatoes were honestly the best we’ve ever had. To top it off, they surprised us by playing a special song with our dessert, which made the evening even more memorable.
If you’re celebrating something special or just want an amazing meal with a view, this place is a must.

This place was so much fun. To see your dinner being prepared on there open fire grill was great. You can pretty much have any seafood you want with any meat you want in any combination you want. As an appetizer, we had the grilled whole garlic heads, which was divine and the shrimp stuffed jalapeños which were a spicy delight. If you’ve never had stuffed squid before, you should try it here. The portions are huge and so we couldn’t eat it all. Overall a 5 star for the place, service, food and the view! Go at sunset for great views.

We stayed at the lodge next to this and opted to try out the restaurant (20% off for lodge guests).
We were a little hesitant because of the prices, but the food was so insanely good that it was 100% worth it. Everything is cooked in a wood fired oven / on a grill over hot charcoals and it’s open to the restaurant so you can watch them cook.
Our drinks were good (I had the watermelon ‘juice’ and it was my favorite drink so far), and all of the food was delicious. Shrimp cocktail, meat plate, and jumbo shrimp.
However, the true standout was dessert, specifically the brownie. I took a bite and was blown away. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think it was the best dessert I’ve ever had – my boyfriend agreed as well. Just randomly the most delicious dessert ever.
The views are beautiful as well – we came after sunset but had a chance to see what it looked like when we had checked into the lodge.
If you’re willing to spend the money then it’s 100% worth it.

We had a fantastic meal at El Lagarto, the staff were exemplary! And the food was incredible. Cooked over coals and fire the flavour and quality was incredible. The fish was as fresh as can be, caught that day, and the views for sunset are amazing.

Excellent place to have a really nice and good dinner. If you can try to be there or make a reservation for the sunset. We missed the sunset but the food experience was amazing. I had the seafood special, which was stuffed squib ( not a piece of squib, the WHOLE squib), shrimps, and other seafood on it. It comes with fresh grill tomato, baked potato, and zucchini. You can see on the picture that it was no joke. My wife got the Beef tenderloin, which also comes with Bake potatoes, tomato and zucchini. All plates are made right there in front of you and with wood. The smell is so amazing. Strongly recommended if you come to this area in Manuel Antonio. I even recommend that skip your hotel restaurant and come here. We spend a little more in our resort and the food at this restaurant is by far better. They food for everyone taste. Sorry that my pictures of the menu came out blurry. Also, if you pay with credit card, ask for pay in Colones which is the Costa Rica money. Most of the time the change with your card is better.

Great place. I was staying at Pura Natura lodge which is attached to the restaurant and ordered dinner here. P.S. people staying here get 20% discount on meals. I took it to go as my room was directly under the restaurant so I had similar view. However, I stayed for a drink at the bar when my food was being prepared and Allen the bartender was excellent. Very attentive and made a good drink. I ordered the surf and turf which was cooked to perfection. Awesome restaurant with amazing views.

My husband is very picky with seafood, the slightest fishy oder makes him nauseous. However, we both agreed that this was the BEST seafood we’ve had in our life. He usually doesn’t eat octopus because it tastes burnt to him but he LOVED the octopus here. We ate an entire big fish as well and couldn’t get enough. Our entire time in Costa Rica, we’ve been very happy food wise, we’ve been to 3 different parts of the country and a new restaurant every day, this was our FAVORITE by a far and is the only place we will go back to inspite of how great the other restaurants we went to were.

The food is good. The views can be amazing if it doesn’t rain. I have 2 negatives; 1 . The kids meal options are more like options for picky adults. Not for kids. 2. The prices are insane. They take extreme advantage of being in a tourist area. The food is good, don’t get me wrong, but a $30 margarita??? Come on. We enjoyed our dinner and the wood stove smells divine. If you go, just prepare to overpay for a good – not great – meal.
