My fiancé and I went out for dinner on a Sunday and it was pretty slow inside. We were greeted and sat right away. I ordered the barbacoa tacos and my fiance ordered the burrito loco and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Went for the first time for my man’s birthday. The food was wonderful. The super margarita was the best margarita I’ve ever had. He got a free dessert for his birthday and the gave him a sombrero to wear while they sang happy birthday.

If you’re ever in Mount Pleasant and craving real Mexican food, El Jinete is hands down one of my go-to spots. Their tacos? Some of the best in town—no joke. They’ve got that street-style flavor that hits just right, and everything tastes super fresh.

The place is family-owned, and you can feel it in how they treat you. Service is always on point, everyone’s friendly, and they actually care if you’re enjoying your food. I’ve been there multiple times, and it’s been consistently great every single time.

I usually go for the tacos, but their empanadas and fajitas are solid too—especially when they come out sizzling on the skillet. And if you’re there between 4 and 8, they’ve got happy hour deals on beers and margaritas, which makes it even better.

Fresh food and attentive service. I came here last winter for the first time with some friends, and we had a great experience. Delicious food and large servings at a decent price. Our waiter, did an excellent job of keeping our needs met and went above and beyond with great service. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back when I’m in the area.

The decor of this new restaurant is very nice. I was greeted right away and taken to my table. I was served chips and salsa and the ice cold beer in a bottle quickly. The meal was served promptly.

None of the wait staff, nor the greeter, nor the manager smiled to make me feel welcome at any time during my visit.

I ordered a steak medium rare. It came to the table well done. My waiter asked how my meal was and I said this is not a medium rare steak (see photo). He asked me twice if I wanted to replace it, I said no. The colorful vegetables were both so salty I couldn’t eat them.

The manager came to the table. He offered to replace the meat, again I declined. I discussed the saltiness of the vegetables and he said he would check with the kitchen. When he returned he was rude and said the kitchen did not make a mistake. “It may just be the way you taste.”

I have given this restaurant a one star rating because of the decor, the ice cold beer, the chips and salsa, and the prompt service, which I liked. And, the unfriendliness of the staff and attitude of the manager.

They did not charge me for the meal. They charged me for the beer. I had to ask for a receipt when I paid the bill. They seemed unwilling to give me a receipt.

I was disappointed with this experience.

This is by far one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The menu had a gigantic selection of delicious options that could suit anyone’s tastes. We were greeted by the friendliest hostess who seated us quickly. Our server was incredible as well. He had our drinks and food out promptly, he brought us extra napkins just by noticing we needed them without having to ask, he made sure our drinks stayed full, and kept the free chips and salsa coming throughout the whole meal. The tacos (tacos campechanos) that I ordered were so flavorful that I almost didn’t have a chance to take a picture before scarfing them down. My wife said hers (chimichangas from the lunch menu) were incredible as well. We don’t visit Mt pleasant often, but I’m glad I now have a restaurant that I can stop in and trust that it’s going to be amazing every time.

I was very impressed with the food. It tasted amazing. The Spanish rice had a great flavor and texture. I was skeptical about Pico and guacamole on salad but it works. I liked the option to have a margarita on the rocks instead of frozen. I couldn’t drink it all. Staff is friendly and not overly in your face.

Great place great food, I want to say the gentleman who’s the manager (had a tan yellowish shirt on) gave me a free meal. When I went to give him a tip for being kind he refused and said how about a hug instead. Great work sir. Made my night

Met the second brother Antonio, since we always eat at his brother’s location. All I have to is this families food is super great. The staff is friendly and attentive. The owner is awesome. The food is reallyyyyyy good. I have been to the country Mexico and have had authentic Mexican food for many years. Butttttt…, the brother’s are damn near close to taste and quality. We will be long time customer’s for years to come. We will be back!!!!
