Service was phenomenal. Our server was very attentive. We were seated right away. Drinks were brought promptly with delicious chips and salsa. Jalapeño poppers were scrumptious. 1/2 jalapeño and cream cheese inside, lightly battered and crispy. They give you an avocado sour cream to dip. The prices are very reasonable. Most lunch specials are less than $10! The atmosphere inside was very interesting. They decorated it in such a neat way. Will definitely be back! Great lunch spot!

Had a great experience last night 🙂 It was my birthday and we decided last minute go to Mexican food and so glad we chose this place ! The food was great and tasty. The service was great and our waitress Samanta was lovely. They even surprised me with a Happy Birthday song and a great tequila ! It’s is 5 starts and of course we will be back !:)

The experience at this restaurant is one for the books. From the drinks to the check, our waiter treated us awesome.

Food: The queso and salsa are top tier. Chips are a little too crunchy for me, the type of you bite the wrong way, it will pierce your mouth. I got La Amate Michelada, which is a michelada garnished with shrimp and comes with a side of ceviche. Its a meal by itself and I loved it! My wife got the veggie quesadilla and loved it and my shrimp and mango burrito was incredible as well(cant remember the name of it).

Service: Our waiter was kind, helpful and prompt.

Atmosphere: Great atmosphere, it has a home vibe to it. It’s quiet enough to have casual conversation but they’re also TVs around if you want to watch something.

We will be coming here again on a date night.

I’ve driven by it a million times but today was the first time I decided to stop in and give it a shot. They brought out the house salsa and some chips and it was really tasty. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were simply amazing. I also ordered the fish tacos to go and just tried one and it was equally amazing. The service was very good, the gentleman that served me was very polite and attentive. My overall experience was spectacular. I will definitely be back!

El Jimador was a complete disappointment from start to finish.
We had to wait 40 min to he served our food.
The queso starter was essentially watered-down cheese with no flavor. Things only went downhill from there. The plates given to us were dirty, had to ask for new ones twice and when we asked for a refill, we were literally served a cup with food still stuck on it and floating in it. That alone was enough to kill any appetite. However asked for a side of sour cream and it literally had red stuff in it and a chunk of food after scooping it.
Our server had an attitude the entire time, which made the experience even worse. The birria was nothing more than beef broth, and the cheese used tasted like cheap, bland queso—and not even good queso. The fajitas, which cost around $20, barely had any meat. There was enough for maybe two tacos, if that.
Overall, the food was mediocre at best, the cleanliness was unacceptable, and the service was poor. For the price, this place is absolutely not worth it. We won’t be back.

We dropped by for lunch with our oldest granddaughter. She had her normal 2 soft Tacos. I had the lunch portion Carnitas. Fresh and tasty. Good service.

This location isn’t nearly as sanitized as the Irmo and West Lexington locations. It’s hard to find a clean bottle of any brand of hot sauce.

Had the enchiladas tapatias with beef tips and they were pretty good. The beef tips had good flavor and were juicy. The chips for the salsa were fresh and the salsa itself was good too. The service was great and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.

Delicious food. They have some authentic dishes and some Americanized ones, so everyone should be happy here. The salsa bar is unique and lets you experiment. The cocktails are unique and well made. The carnitas are tender and juicy. The mole was more chocolate than I’m used to, but it was really good and well spiced. The ceviche tostada was a great value and super tasty (also really spicy!). Best of all, they have fried ice cream, which is really hard to find in this area. Highly recommend coming here.

I rarely give a poor review, and i have to admit that we were there at 4:30 pm so it seemed like we were early for dinner. There was no one in line but we had to wait about 10 minutes because the wait staff was busy with a sales person. There was one family and a lady at the bar other than that the restaurant was empty. The booth was not cleaned as yet, the service was very slow and my food was mediocre. Shift change happened while we were eating and perhaps the evening staff are more energetic and customer service oriented. It was a poor experience for us.

Had an alright experience trying out El Jimador for a late dinner. Did not take long to get seated, and was served chips upon sitting. The chips and salsa were mediocre at best, did not taste like it was fresh, felt more stale or even store bought. Wait to get served and receive our was not terribly long considering it was not too busy. Ordered the chile Colorado as my main entree. The waiter had forgotten to bring me my tortillas with their dish, and I had reminded him that I had not received any. Upon asking him for them, he proceeded to tell me that tortillas would be an extra charge, despite it being included with the dish and clearly listed on their own menu as well. When I order chile Colorado at other Mexican restaurants, I typically receive plenty of tortillas that I fill up with the rice beans and meat to eat, so to hear I would have to pay more to receive what is supposed to be included with the food was disappointing. For the food itself, the red sauce was very rich in flavor, but the pork tips were not tender to the bite, and a little tough/overcooked. The rice was good, despite the portion size being masked by its presentation, and the beans were average, nothing special. Overall, experience was hit or miss, around the middle of the line. They have the tools to make it a better experience in the future, but for a first experience it was more average than outstanding.
