El Jardin Restaurant

Social Profile:

El Jardin has been an East End staple for 40 years, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gonzalez. The building’s orange and green stucco, cobalt blue dome, and the carved and painted birds and parrots on the entrance doors serve as signal flares for the equally colorful interior and then there’s the food. It is comfort food prepared like we make at home when we’re feeding our families.

Family-run place for Mexican food & margaritas, plus happy hour, DJs & occasional mariachi music.

Fajitas for two is a good portion. Margarita is refreshing and strong. Comes with an extra shot of tequila. Chile con queso came out hot and delicious. Chips tastes fresh. Salsa is okay.

I like dining at this restaurant because the food is usually very good, however, after a recent visit I was really turned off by the cleanliness of the restrooms. I have no idea how the ladies restroom appears inside but looking at the men’s door, I was thoroughly disgusted. The dirty door isn’t from missing a cleaning for one day: looks more like 1 year. I tried to send an email to El Jardin to address this situation but the website is non-existent.

In the meantime, I will just bring my own sanitizer and paper towels to clean my hands before dining IF I decide to return.

Great local restaurant. The best food. Lots of variety. Good drinks menu. The staff is attentive but not intrusive if you’re eating or having a conversation. The food is delicious with good-sized portions. Parking is tough on a busy night, but they have two lots and street options. This place is a gem. Go. Eat. Drink. You won’t regret it.

We came here for breakfast and it was DELICIOUS!! We came near 11am and they still were able to serve us some breakfast. The staff were all super courteous and helpful and friendly. The food was authentic Mexican food and reminded me of back home and when i was a kid. Loved everything about this place. The dining room was nice and spacious and clean. The prices are very reasonable. I think i just found my new favorite breakfast spot. We will come back.

Food was great. Large portions for a lunch plate. Best part you get queso with your chips and salsa. No one does that anymore and I’ll return for that reason.

The food use to be better with their old cook . The food now is decent now. Parking can be difficult if you go on a busy day and time.
Their House margaritas are extremely weak. I don’t recommend it.
The millennium margarita is pricey. Depending on who is making it, you can get your moneys worth. I would ask for Alex to make them if he’s there.
Green salsa is better than the red salsa
